Bit rough on Hughes..hasn't done anything wrong on the field as far as I have seen...Does anyone know what his story is????

Yes.
Opacic,Sivo,Gutherson make it slow. And Fergo even thou gets going takes off sluggish these days. So 4/7 where slow.
That backline above puts 1/7 slow. Even with Opacic or Sivo 5/7 would be reasonably quick

I reckon our best 1-7 in Round 1, 2022 (assuming no one is signed from outside) would be:
1. Drown
2. Dunster
3. Opacic
4. Penisini
5. Blake
6. Gutho
7. Moses

Drown gives a bit of size and speed out of the back and Gutho at 6 means we don't lose his ball playing and his lack of speed isn't as much of an issue. Drown also has the defence for a good FB.

I think I will call my inside contacts and or one of the players I have on speed dial and get them to sell the idea to Bea Arthur.

Penisini and Haze make the backline quick all of a sudden. Waqa is no slouch. Russel may also crack side.
And the fastest halves in comp just about.

I reckon Smith is probably on around $200k but the rest would be on nearer to $100k and they all need to be replaced.

Yep, that’s probably my backline unless Russell has a massive off-season and forces his way into fullback. In that case I’d drop Opa and move Drown into the centres.
Either way it’s a much better looking backline.

would be a pretty quick (2-7) but the back 3 might be a bit small to ruck it out for 3 of every set.

Yep. However speed can be used to ruck it out too with shifts to the end edges too
