Yep. Amazing how people were saying he’s replaceable and wouldn’t be worth the $$. Now they’ll be claiming it’s a master stroke. I see no reason why he can’t maintain the form he’s in for another 3 or so years. He’s hardly old
Who are those claiming its a master stroke?

I love the ennis news i reckon he is the best analyst on Fox tbh. No BS about him either. He loves mahoney and gives us a presence in the media as well. I noticed how Ennis always stood up for canberra when he was there as a consultant. Plus he is a winner

So that means he played for 5 clubs as a player and has helped another 2 post his career with coaching. Nearly represented half the comp
Hated him as a player… but he was one of those “I wish that niggly bastd was ours”. Enjoy him on Fox and he’s a champion off the field by all reports.

Yes? Where have I been inconsistent?
@lucablight is just cannot see how we had any sort of competitive advantage over Penrith this year, or that it was an embarrassment that we lost to them in week 2 of the finals (which you also said). IMO they have a better team than ours and paying some of RCG and Waqa salary doesn't change that. But can we agree to disagree?

I don’t necessarily agree or disagree that they had the better team. The frustrating thing for me was having more than enough ball to win the game but failing to take advantage when we had the team to do it. We can agree to disagree.

It's almost like the club reads these forums. Many people were saying we need new ideas. I was thinking we need a friend in the media. Looks like the club is prepping for a final assault on the peak of Mt Everest.

People learn. Is Mary not capable of learning? Would people prefer unexperienced guys? Mary had some good ideas but also a lot of poor decisions. The fact we have Kidwell, BA and Ennis means they can all chip in and bounce ideas. Something one may miss the other may pick up and something one may know can teach the other.

People who have fixed minds miss chances. Ricky Stuart is a prime example of someone who improved. Is he a bad coach now cause Raiders didn't make the finals this season?
The guy is a good coach.
McDud learns nothing except better ways to through his support staff under the bus.

During his tenure with the Dragons not one player became a better player after joining the club or coming into grade. Players did not develop new skills or address weaknesses in their game.

One of the first things Wayne did in 2009 was to sack him as assistant coach.

Kearney works for the Storm. Anderson works for the Roosters. So did Jason Taylor. Fitzgibbon could turn out to look like a dud, despite having been at the Chooks while they won premierships. It's not that these coaches are to blame for poor results at weak clubs. It's just that the strong clubs have the money to be able to employ coaches like them as assistants and consultants, while weaker clubs can only afford them as head coaches.
Looks like we do have money to spend to hopefully improve. Who would have thunk?

Article says Parra benefiting with Penrith chipping in 250k for the next 3 seasons. I call completely bullshit. His contract would of been up before 2024 ends. I was told they where chipping in 250k for his first 3 seasons. So end of 2022 it was full freight. However these 2.4 mill for 3yrs are paper figures.

It is possible we are paying him 750k next season with Penrith adding 250k. Then 750k for 2023 and 500k for 2024.
The point is we don't know and never will.
