I rated him as a player before I met him. I think I even made an appreciation thread about him when he made his debut. My son was so excited about me meeting him. Dylan is a nice young man. A quality human being and if it was up to me he'd be an Eel for life.

He needs to learn how and when to pass.

Just saying.

He's the player we need to fulfill his potential if we are every going to challenge for the title.
I'm saying it now Dylan will go to another level in 22. He's only 22 years old but this kid is something special. I feel that being moved from the left really slowed down his development and now that he's back there he'll come close to being Dally M five-eighth of the year mark my words.

Predicting Hodgo will be there next year. I'm predicting that Kaufusi will finally have a breakout season, looking at his preseason photos he looks great.
1. Gutherson 2. Simonsson 3. Blake 4. Penisini 5. Dunster 6.D.Brown 7. Moses
that 1-7 looks slick and fast expecting plenty of long-range tries from us next year
8.RCG 9.Hodgo 10.Paulo 11.Lane 12.Matto 13.N.Brown
Really good pack and Hodgos experience will be vital for us. Decided to have Lane start as he and D.Brown are a real good combo and they complement each other really well. Also, Lane isn't suited for the edge at all his built to be a backrower.
14. Cartwright 15. Niukore 16.Papali'i 17. Kaufusi
Finally the monster bench I really expect us to go all the way next year. 2019 we first established ourselves as a finals team. 2020 we further established ourselves as a finals team but lacked the experience to match it with the best. 2021 beat Melbourne twice and went to the death with Penrith (with shit reffing) and finally fixed our leaky edge defence. I'm expecting a big year from us in 2022 taking the next step to title glory!

I’m not happy with losing Mahoney (or Papalii) but I reckon we should try to get Hodgson for next year. He’s had 1 season post acl. The second year after is usually much improved (which will be 2022). I feel 2023 will be too late with him getting older. f**k Mahoney off now or make him play 80 minutes every week in reserve grade. Good prep for the Dogs.

Also I reckon Hodgson hates Ricky too so he will fit right in here. @Twizzle sign him up here pronto!

Our CEO Sanantoris finally has been found.

Notice the CEO front and centre here. But BA has to front the media when Reed and Co decided to sign elsewhere
Yeah he looks like a real politician this bloke. I wanted BA sacked but at least he fronted the media when nobody else did when the those players signed elsewhere. Our CEO did the Harold holt. He needs to go. His lack of experience is showing. Get rid of him!

Do you think Paulo has no upper price limit? Or do you think we could sign him for the same amount we're paying Hodgson? I think you're missing the point of unders/overs and value. This isn't about comparing who is the better player, it's who provides the most value. A player worth $600k is obviously better than a player worth $350k but if the $600k player is getting $700k and the player worth $350k is getting $400k who is providing better value? What is the opportunity cost to the rest of the squad by having that player taking space in your cap?

It's simplistic to just say X is a good therefore he represents good value. It entirely misses the economic aspect of squad composition.
Paulo is worth more to our side now that we have lost Papali’i. A current State of Origin player who is on 100k overs is better value than a 33 year old player that a non finals club wants to get rid of who is on 50k overs. I think this whole overs narrative is a bit misleading anyway. Every club has a couple of players they have to pay big money to keep. No club is going to have every single player at their net worth. It would be impossible to build a competitive roster that way.

BA offered to front the media to talk about the players that had signed elsewhere for 2 seasons time
In my opinion that offer should have been rejected by either our CEO or HoF in favour of them stepping up. We all know BA loves Reed and no doubt would have wanted him kept at basically any cost - so why make the guy you overruled face the media?

BA rarely has a comment/statement in official press releases for signings or re-signings, so he therefore shouldn’t have to be the only mouthpiece when a negative result is had by the club

Agreed. Ridiculous. Reminds me of Paul Kent getting all shitty because a club or coach wouldn’t talk to him or say in a statement what he thinks should be said. There are so many moving parts to all this shit and it’s just not as simple or straightforward some think.

Perception is 9/10ths of the law. Maybe he isn’t intentionally throwing BA under the bus, but it sure comes across as he’s willing to let BA take the tough questions while he sits pretty on the good news.

Is it part of the 173 route from Parra to West Ryde?

The Eels, in my opinion, will be stronger in 2022 than at any stage in the past decade. If Curtis Scott is cleared to sign up, he will be a terrific addition to the PLAYING strength of the Club..He can play...just needs to stop being a dickhead and concentrate on what he is getting paid for. I, for one, am looking forward to the new season with plenty of anticipation.

Same here.

Bailey Simonsson is a great pick-up, too.

Yep, we will probably be weaker in 2023, but in 2022 we should be the best chance of winning the comp since 2005. Still, it's less than 50% chance. No guarantees.

Which premiers do you think were better than evens of winning the comp at the start of the year? There's 16 teams wanting to win the comp each year. Eight of them will make the finals.

‘22 will be a great year but I think we’ll be even stronger in ‘23 … yes we’ll lose a few , but Gutho / Moses / Brown will keep improving , Hodgson adds something we don’t have … a good composed footie brain onfield and is a leader , Pensini , Haze and Russell will be on the up

only obstacle to us getting better in ‘23 will be winning the premiership in ‘22 … and I’m sure we’d all take a title
