I remember the first time I ever saw Brett Kenny play - I think it was his first grade debut - at Cumberland Oval. He played outside centre, with Cronin inside centre. Towards the end of the game I said to my father, "This bloke will play for Australia one day". My father kind of looked at me, but didn't disagree; he just said, "He's pretty good, alright".And Sean Russell is my favourite up and coming player. He reminds me of a young Brett Kenny.
Russell has certainly got the same effortless running style.I remember the first time I ever saw Brett Kenny play - I think it was his first grade debut - at Cumberland Oval. Coming off the bench against the Broncos? No wonder he went well on debut for us.Hindy111 called it the best debut he has ever seen and to lock him up long term.
f**king rabbit
The good teams all carved us up - out wide - when he was defending on the edge. Why do you think he was moved back to the middle? Was his defence poor on the edge? I seem to recall our left edge defence being quite good. We certainly won a lot of games when he was on the edge.
Penisini and Walker were both off contract when they re-signed (unlike Papali'i who had over 18 months to run on his contract at the start of this year). Walker actually re-signed in May, and had been free to negotiate with other clubs for almost six months ffs. Neither player re-signed as early as you think Papali'i should have been locked up. You'll also note neither Penisini nor Walker signed long term extensions, though no doubt their clubs would have preferred that they did. In fact Robinson said here that he wanted Walker retained for 10 years but the player's management knew it wasn't in his best interest to sign too long too early: https://www.nrl.com/news/2021/05/13/walker-re-signs-with-roosters-until-end-of-2023/Penisini wasn’t carving up as part of the first grade squad like Papali’i or Sam Walker were at the time he was re-signed. I don’t understand your position either. Are you saying we should re-sign players early or not? If we should wait until they’ve proven they didn’t fluke half a season then the “experts” at the Eels shouldn’t have re-signed Penisini and the Roosters shouldn’t have re-signed Sam Walker and should have waited until they’d proven themselves at the end of their second season.
Too many middles is never enough. The good teams all carved us up - out wide - when he was defending on the edge. Why do you think he was moved back to the middle?
But maybe money was his short term objective to set his mum up so that's why he took itPenisini and Walker were both off contract when they re-signed (unlike Papali'i who had over 18 months to run on his contract at the start of this year). Walker is just lucky that he has good advisors (unlike Papali'i) who won't let him go to a club that will tank his career AND also won't let him commit long term to unders. Maybe Papali'i's advisors only had that on their mind?
its a shame cause i would have given ICE the number 13Too many middles is never enough.

You could write an encyclopedia on all the juniors that were going to be superstars that have been mentioned on here.Russel might be a superstar.
Nathan Davis was also rated the best back since Hayne on here.
Tanginoa the best since Hindmarsh.
Till they make it best to keep open mind on them.

But it’s also not like all the players who did make it weren’t also mentioned on here. You could write an encyclopedia on all the juniors that were going to be superstars that have been mentioned on here.
Keating bros were gonna be the savioursJustin Tsoulos
Kris Keating was next Brad Fitler.Keating bros were gonna be the saviours
Hope so, otherwise, another a fluffy kittenWell I’m hoping Sean Russell will turn out to be our new Brett Kenny but will probably be our new Joel Reddy who didn’t have a bad career.
On the other hand, every middle forward looks like a gun when he's running at halfbacks. You only need two edge forwards on the field and the key requirement is that they can defend there. If you really need Paulo or Papali'i running at halves you can put him there in the red zone. He doesn't need to wear 11 or 12, and you certainly don't want him there when the defence is under pressure.Too many middles is never enough.
