Has played lock and hooker. Also Jayden Yates I think is a backrower who has good reviews but I've never personally seen him play so not sure if he fits into the team
I like makatoa, the dude has nothing to lose and leaves it all out there. Good team morale player even though he’s no super star
Disagree. There were 1 or 2 games last year where the super stars looked spent and then this guy delivers a hit that just lifts everyone.Yes agree. But he isn't a difference maker. Guys like Greig and Ogden, Kafusi have potential to be.
Hollis could become more of a James Tamou style prop who is good for 140mtrs and 30 tackles.
Definitely a shot at being the first Rookie to get an NRL run this season. Hes a machine. There's a second roeer in NSW Cup called Elie el zakhem who is apparently an excellent prospect.
in the game verse penrith rnd 25 Makatoa ran for 173m off 21 hitups / 48 tackles 4 missed tackles and 0 errors.
pretty good for a guy 5th or 6th on the depth chart.
Maka was an ideal fill in for Reg when it eventually happened. He is a hard worker. I just felt his leg speed was too slow for NRL. There was no real burst or explosion there.
Anyone fit and big enough can take hit ups and will make 8mtrs everytime. Dime a dozen. Guys who bend the line, skittle the defense, offload etc are what seperates them. I just do not see Makatoa able to do this.
Greig and Ogden however have upside due to their raw power. Aslong as they can get fit they are better prospects.
He's not even in the full time squad ffsDefinitely a shot at being the first Rookie to get an NRL run this season. Hes a machine.
Many of us thought that about Stefano too.He is a hard worker. I just felt his leg speed was too slow for NRL. There was no real burst or explosion there.
He's not even in the full time squad ffs
Neither was Jrthur last year until the miracle occurred. He's not even in the full time squad ffs
Many of us thought that about Stefano too.
Yes that's true and I was going to type that but I was too lazy. Still, we don't need Makatoa to be our number one prop. He can afford to rip in at 120% percent in the few opportunities he will get.Except he was 18 or 19. Makatoa was 28 and now 29.
He is a hard worker.
He could be like Andrew Davey!Anyhows I am not an expert and perhaps Makatoa will be a suprise packets. Just turned 29 he could certainly give 4yrs at NRL level. It would be more a credit to our coaching staff if he was able too. You'd start to beleive they are able to develop props better then any other club in the comp.
Whoever he is...He could be like Andrew Davey!
Yeah but generally the players that do that in attack are liabilities in defence…He is a hard worker. I just felt his leg speed was too slow for NRL. There was no real burst or explosion there.
