Sivo still does take some great carries. I think why fans get upset is he will do maybe 2 where he runs full steams and bowl guys over followed by 6 or 7 where he just jogs up to the line but probably still makes the same as what either Haze or Russel would tbh.
There is always a couple of genuinely strong hit ups by Sivo carting it up where he makes 15mtrs plus and has a red hot go. That's why he is frustrating.

Additionally teams have recognised while he can barrel an outside back or 2, he doesn’t have the pace to get around the outside so on kick returns they herd him back infield where trying to barrel 3 or 4 defenders gets him massacred.
He almost needs to be running off someone else on his kick returns (that is not him one out off the ruck). But that’s not ideal because passing on tackle 1/2 in own half is risky at the best of times, added with Sivo not being the safest anyway, plus it’s another person having to run.
On that… if I see Gutho take another kick and turn and wait 10 minutes for Sivo to wrap around, I’ll go to training and throw my TV remote at him. FFS how difficult is it for him to catch the kick, run a hand full of metres and then turn and lay it off? The merkins shit me when they’re either not on same page or couldn’t be f**ked moving a few steps

I feel like the best player we have in the backs in NSW cup is Opacic. The question is what we want to do. And when will SIVO be ready.
Simmonson is not a meter eater. To be fair Haze isn't either but they both make ok yards.
If we moved Waqa there we weaken a position but maybe have the best 17. If Sivo will be ready by May it may only mean 8 games or so.
I think however I'd lean towards Russel. He is young and promising. Is Dunster a whole lot better then Russel? I'd say not. It is sad for Haze tho cause he most likely now starts 2023 in NSW cup with maybe another few options infront of him also. This was his chance to cement an NRL spot.

But we were with Dunster at wing? I'm not big fan of Opacic but he is more experienced and at least as good a footballer as Haze Dunster.

Sivo has plenty of limitations, but imo, his positives outweigh his negatives.

He has scored some amazing tries.

He walks right back into our side when fit, imo.

He's actually a fairly safe defensive winger as well, including vs kicks, which is probably the first requirement for anyone playing there.

He might, but if so he will still be here as a backup. I doubt there was enough demand for him to get big money. He would be on about $200k. More than minimum but far less than the average salary.
