He only moved Inglis when he found a first grade quality 5/8 who had played in multiple semi finals and grand finals plus origin in the halves. He didn't replace him with a Jersey Flegg quality player who has no business in first grade.
Inglis was the reigning Dally M Five-Eighth of the Year, who spent all of 2008 in the 6 jersey. After two rounds of 2009 he was moved to centre. If it’s good enough for him it’s good enough for Dylan Brown.

And Jake Arthur has been a strong performer in reserve grade. He is far too good for jersey Flegg, as you’d expect from the perfect NRL backup.

Nathan Cleary coming up in Sport on 9 news Sydney about handling criticism being the coach's son..will be interesting to see what he says and if JA is selected for this Fridays game. Personally I don't think he should be for his own mental well being and the fact he is not quite ready yet. If Opacic is available then for mine JA should be omitted from the 17

I’ll predict he’ll say the criticism is unnecessary and he’s a good player learning the game and selected on his own merits not because he’s the coaches kid.

We were massively dudded.
I expect a big turnaround from Saturday's debacle but not sure if we have enough creativity to breach panfers defence.
With their consistent rushing defence I would be kicking in behind them often with the centres, wingers, guth and the halves ready to pounce.
Need to keep them in two minds whether to rush up and in or hold. Run harder and tackle harder will not be enough here. We need variety and 17 extremely committed players. Panfers are on song and give you no cheap points.
I hope we have a trick shot or two. 2 or 3 tries will probably win this game.
I hope the players just forget about Darwin and go into the game believing they can win, otherwise it's a futile exercise going to blueballs stadium on Friday night.

We seem to be able to lift suitably for these big games. I expect we’ll be more than competitive, but with them at basically 100% fitness and us with 6-7 unavailable, I don’t know if winning may just be a jump too far. In saying that I don’t care if we play well and keep it close

I reckon the conditions they played in at Darwin may well have an effect as well. Expect the worst and hope for the best. Pennys into Chooks into Sea Starlings. Tough.

Our middles are going to have to play out of there skin to offset the lack of experience/ability on the edges (Especially if Dylan Brown moves back to #6)

If we complete less then 85% we will struggle to come close.
Agree, a high completion rate means that they tackle more and we will have better field position. One thing that pennys do well is complete at high %, force errors by winning the middle and then they are able to pin you down in your corners. They then win the contest of possession and field position. That's the game at a macro level, yet merkins chose to focus at our flaws at a micro level.

Well Benji is a dope and I’m not. He’s thinking about what’s best for Dylan Brown, not what’s best for the team. He also had enough games doing f**k all behind a beaten pack that he should know there was no guarantee Drown would’ve done anything against the Cowboys strong defence on Saturday.

Bellamy moved Inglis from 6 to the centres and won a grand final. Surely we can afford to play Dylan Brown at centre until we get some more outside backs on the field. I’d replace Perham before dropping Arthur.

Pou I get that we are struggling with injuries and so coach is scratching his head right now coming up with the right combinations, but he should have scratched his head a little harder last season when he and his retention committee decided that will Smith wasn't worth a two season contract.

From what I understand and what has been reported it had nothing to do with more money but length of term(one year from us or two from Titans) and he chose the security of the extra year. Now he is a genuine utility and depth backup player that has performed in multiple positions for us over the years and sometimes even spectacularly. During his time here there have been instances where he has come on and actually turned the momentum back over in our favour and games where he even won for us, be it occasionally also fu*king up as would be expected otherwise he would be more then just a depth backup player. But he was NRL hardened, knew his roll well and was even getting better at it with maturity and experience.

He loved the club and we could have kept him in this very important roll for years to come, but we tossed him and for who? Jacob, who nearly everyone who laid eyes on the kid and that is all he is at this stage a kid, wasn't physically ready by a long shot. No matter how much training or how well he was slotting in at training, most here except you again and your regular possie of boneheads, said that he will probably need a least a couple of off seasons and NSW cups to develop into the player that he will resemble as an NRL player. In other words actually be closer to the finished product and NRL ready if he will ever be one long term.

So this current predicament that the coach and club have found themselves in, as much as you can't predict injuries but you should expect them, is largely of their own doing. Coach and retention committee are partially responsible but so are you for being such a clown-dick and making me waste my time and everyone else's on here trying to explain the freakin bleeding obvious to you once again.
