Well it's all relative. Success for the Storm and Roosters should be defined differently than for us. I would actually expect the Broncos to outperform us over the long term as well, and I suppose they still are, despite our superior results over the past three years. But then that is relative as well. When we are a shambles we finish 14th, 16th and 16th (similar to a club like the Knights or Bulldogs). When the Broncos are at rock bottom their worst three year stretch might look like 8th, 16th, 14th.

Our style is the same as the first year he come. Bash the weak sides. Get to finals. Tactics just are not going to trouble the top teams. Be knocked out.

I'll give him this season to see if Ennis and Mary help change a few things. Otherwise I am not expecting much different

This I feel is it for us for a while. Dogs and Broncos are coming up. As are the Dragons.

I think it has more to do with geography than Gus

same reason we were club champions for about 15 years on the trot and Panfers were newbies

All that matters is win rate. You get that right and the premierships will come.

All our good players now want more money or leaving. Its fine for Penrith and the Storm. They got premierships. We didn't even make it to the last 4 and our squad is now being picked apart. We either now pay premium to keep what's left or blow it up and start again.

Personaly I would of blown it up for 2023 and let Guth and RCG or Jnr walk.

Our style was very different prior to 2018. That horror year changed the way we recruited, which changed the way we play. The current style suits our current team. There's no magic tactic that will beat the top teams in the finals or any other time. That's why they're the top teams.

Gus was good but also handed out 5yr deals to Rcg,Blake,Cartwright,Moylan,Whare.... Signed Hiku for big dollars along with DWZ.....

Exactly, Penrith bar a brief period in the early 90's and 2000's has been a pretty average club in their entire existence. There is absolutely no reason we can't do something similar like they have. To say otherwise is just a cop out.

The first thing they did was realise they had a promising young roster and they knew the coach they had wasn't capable of getting them to the next level. Sound familiar???? And what did we do???? Extend a proven dud.
