So keep the ritual of sacking coaches? That is you solution?

Or develop from the ground up solutions for sustainable long term success?

I say we develop sustainable solutions - and find a coach who can enforce those.

I'm not sure Arthur is that coach.

But I'd be loathe to have him sacked - just don't offer him a new deal.

What makes you think he can coach?
In 2020 did anyone expect Penrith to do much??? They weren't tipped by anyone to make the top 8. He's transformed a young team into a powerhouse. You want to question his coaching skills while supporting Bea Arthur no matter what???

Really???? Here comes the dog again FFS

That's because they were shit in 2019, under Ivan Cleary. Before that they were firmly lodged in the top eight for three straight years with their young players Nleary, Edwards, JFH, Kikau, Leota, and Yeo on the rise.
He's transformed a young team into a powerhouse.
No, they've just gotten older and more experienced.

I'm saying if you're just looking at finals records Cleary is proof that the team is what really matters, not the coach.

Cleary's first stint at Penrith: 43 wins from 96 games (45%), 1 finals win (50%)
Cleary's second stint at Penrith: 58 wins from 80 games (73%), 5 finals wins (83%)

Geez he must've learnt f**ken plenty at Wests. I'd say any coach would've been successful with this Panthers side. Just like how Ricky Stuart won 80% of finals matches at Easts. Robinson has only won 66% of finals at that club. It all depends what squad you've got and that is mostly out of the coach's hands.

600k is a fair price for him. 800k reported is way overs.
I think given some other factors, particularly captaincy, $800k is a fair price, so some above value payment. I think you’re being a bit harsh at $600k, but let’s say the $200k over for captaincy (also back up goal kicker, “Origin”, etc). A lot of clubs cop this captaincy tax.
The big problem I have with Gutho’s pay at the moment, and maybe now I’m being harsh, but his onfield captaincy, at least, is shit. So that captaincy tax is sunk cost at the moment. On top of that Junior is also now captain so make of that what you will

We only needed a penalty goal to tie the scores. That's all Penrith won by. A penalty right in front.
Yeah but then it would have come down to a field goal shootout and we know Moses is a massive choking looser whose game is not suited to kicking or practising field goals so we would have lost anyway.....

Possibly, but also we might’ve won. They might’ve let another massive bomb bounce and we could’ve scored. The point is we gave ourselves a chance to win. Eventually you get the bounce.
