Melbourne have the advantage of location stability as well. If a player's wife and kids are happy in Melbourne there isn't eight clubs within driving distance driving his price up.

Can work the other way as well. If we want to poach a player who doesn’t want to move interstate then we have the added advantage of being a Sydney club. (Case in point-Michael Jennings).

Mannah and Vella were the most overrated props we have ever produced. The only reason they made rep football was due to the extended or unlimited interchange where their strength was fast play the balls. Mannah was slightly better but both were pillows.

This is probably why they focus on poaching young players from places young people want to leave: Queensland and New Zealand.
