Well kinda. Wests are interested in him.

Yeah well kinda the landscape is changing and he may well be interested in them too.

Riccio suggests he might be interested by the Tigers if his next Penrith deal is not to his liking.

“My indications are that there is an appetite to have a look at this,” he said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“Where 12 months ago it wasn’t the case for Cameron Ciraldo. He was still imbedded with the Panthers, they hadn’t won the premiership yet and he was still on contract.

“The difference is he doesn’t have a contract with the Panthers beyond this season.

“He his one of the highest paid assistant coaches and deservedly so. I don’t think due to some financial pressures in the support staff area at the Panthers, that next deal that he is due to negotiate over the next few weeks will be as forthcoming.

“That opens the door for a significant pay day with the Wests Tigers. I understand one of the major lures for Cameron to start his coaching career is to work at a development club.

“That’s his strongest strength, working with next gen(eration) talent from under-20s up and really nurturing and basically taking them to the next level.

“There isn’t a player at the Panthers that Cameron Ciraldo doesn’t have his fingerprints on. Everyone of those stars, he’s coached.”

Riccio believes Ciraldo would prefer the Tigers over the Bulldogs.

“My mail is, if the two jobs came up for Cameron Ciraldo, he’s leaning towards the Tigers,” he added.

I've never been a fan of Frizzell, tbh - but one thing he would definitely bring to the table is big match experience.
Interestingly, while he has played plenty of Origins, he’s only played four finals matches in his career. He would be one of the few 200 game players in the NRL with only one finals win. Mitch Rein is another, though he has never won a finals match. I wonder if Trbojevic will join this elite group. I suppose he would have to get to 200 games first.

Your posting history isn’t enough?? 😂

I never claim to be an expert on anything, I just post my thoughts in here.
You’re the one with all the answers, merkin. Sack this merkin, sack that merkin. If you were smart like me you would try to understand what you’re seeing on the field instead of plucking dumb theories out of your coight and demanding scapegoats whenever we lose.

We could use more of that - more experienced campaigners are likely to help keep the team's heads cool when momentum is wrestled away from us during a match.

we’ve played in the semis in every year since 2017 (excluding 18) so not sure it’s experience that the team is lacking. We just need to get it done on the day.

You don't see this as a journo joining the dots ?

Anyway, he should take the job. What's the worst that can happen at the basket case Tigers ? He becomes unemployable ? Oh wait ...

We tend to make poor decisions when under the pump, and when under pressure - two signs of inexperience, imo.

Frizzell has played plenty of rep footy, so experience is a strong suit of his.

Mate all I am saying is that it could go either way. It all depends on how antsy he is about starting his NRL coaching career and does he want to take a pay cut by staying put? How he perceives the Tigers as a club and juniors to work with and lets not forget Sheens being there brings a whole lot of professionalism and stability to the joint. It wouldn't be like he would be on his Pat Malone there and Sheens would be the perfect wise old mentor that he could rely for advise and support. He could also bring in Barrett, which is what I would do.

The only missing ingredient is what type of financial resources are the Tigers willing to give him as a coach? Would they spend the full $5m non player salary cap or short change him? Their current 2023 NRL team though is shaping up as a decent fringe top 8 contender. Not bad for his first year and he would only build on it from there. Lets remember all he would need to do is make 8th place to be considered a success next year. Something that is very doable.

gee @TheRam , stopping believe the tigers media team….of course they are talking up the tigers, greatest batch of so called juniors coming up…they need some positive spin to change coaches again! And another shit season!!

Gee Wests won matt’s which means nothing. These kid are 17 or 16, long time for them to become NRL players if they even get there!!

The Tigers SG ball got knocked out week 1, Wests didn’t make the finals…

While their flegg side is 5th and NSWRL cup side almost last….

hardly a sign they have a great bunch of juniors coming up…

additionally Dragons who Steelers side won SG ball (better indication of potential NRL players then Matt) a few year back shows what happens at a poorly run club no matter how good your juniors are…

The grass aren’t always greener on the other side …

Mate I wouldn't know and that is why I am asking if anyone knows who they are? It does make sense though that they would have high quality junior since they have a vast nursery to chose from and have always had great player come from there over the decades. So it would be a little strange now for them not to have at least 3 or 4 standouts that make scouts sit up and take notice.

But like I said, I have no inside understanding of juniors at clubland in general, so I yield to others who have.
