Hey @TheRam , what about this from Moses:

The decision was no doubt eased by his relationship with coach Brad Arthur.

“Me and Brad, our relationship is really close,” Moses said.

“We have that relationship that he can come to me about anything. He is really open with me and I am really open with him.

“He can spray me and I can spray him and we get over it. We never take anything to heart. We have been through pretty much everything together.

“I can go to him about anything and speak to him about anything in my life, not just about football.”

I'd prefer it spells the end for N Brown. He is puss.

If Brown keeps playing the way he is and we deem his injured ankle is chronic and will always afflict him, then if we need to offload any established forwards he should be first chosen in my book.

BA not a mentor…players always talk about how good he is…did you see RCG praise the club and basically BA in his origin press conference?

and:

“Recollecting that meeting with Arthur, he said: “The biggest role model I’ve had in my life was Brad Arthur.
“He’d dropped me for round one of the 2018 season after I’d just had the best season of my NRL career.
I might have turned up to training still drunk or maybe I didn’t turn up at all because I was hungover. I’m not quite sure.
“I remember he told me in his office: ‘Ken, I can tell you’re a good father. Anyone can see that. But you’re not a consistent father.’
“At the time, I never knew what he meant and I was angry; I thought I was a good father as I was always there for my kids but – being sober now and thinking back to that day – I know I wasn’t.”

is that personal enough?

No. That is just straight forward older and wiser man knowing he has a piss head on his hands that obviously couldn't be doing a great and consistent job at home due to his wayward personality and behavior giving him a clue in his office way day that he needs to do better.

Hardly paints a picture of a coach that is like a father figure to his players one way or another. I think BA is all about footy and he does care about them, but it all revolves around footy. I don't think he gets into their heads with personal life stuff and deep philosophical stuff that I can see could come from someone like Bennett and Trent Robinson types.

Not that you need to do this with every player mind you. Horses for courses stuff depending on the need and the player type. BA just seems like an old school footy head coach type that lives the train hard and play hard philosophy. Not into the feelings stuff that so many players now a days crave for. It can make all the difference to these types of players.

Agreed but he was becoming a little to injury prone there by the end for my liking, but he is a great players.

But the player I would love for us to have a shot at is Will Pryce. Superstar quality player.

we wont talk to him

I’d have more respect for your opinion if all you said was you didn’t like BA for no reason, rather than just making shit up to justify it.

hey @TheRam, like this comment from RCG:

““I had to work out if I was chasing cash or wanting to win games. That was my thought process. I wanted to win games and enjoy football, and I was enjoying my football here. Had I won three or four premierships, it’s a different story when it comes to [contemplating] going to a brand-new franchise. And the lifestyle sounds appealing. But this is the team where I really want to win a premiership.”

Yes I do. Pity he isn't the captain and we don't seem to have many that think this way at the moment. He also was on tele the other night saying that he was going to get into Matto's ear and try to convince him to stay at the Eels and how important it was for him to stay at Parra.

See he has credibility and speaks from a position of authority due to him living the what he preaches.

Juxtapose that with our current captain who undermines loyalty and is completely opposite to that kind of thinking and behaviour and only encourages our players to seek the best and highest offer possible by his actions. We need more RCG's and less Gutho's if we want to change that mentality. Quality and selfless mentors at all levels of the club are what makes a club a powerhouse. Hopefully RCG can have a louder voice around the playing group. Maybe he can get into both Moses and D. Browns ears soon too, before they opt to go to market.

Do we have one or two spots left in the top 30 for this year? Will be very interesting to see what we do now that our injury crisis is over.

Ok I do like it and maybe BA has go it in him. Well lets see how he goes as far as re-signing for us. If that is the way he truly feels, then surely it wouldn't be such a big deal to come to the table and sign before going to market as long as we give him a decent offer, right?

I mean $1m should be more then enough to keep him happy, right? Sure he could get $1.1m or $1.2m from lesser clubs, but $1m is still a massive amount of money for someone that has been earning top dollar for most of his career and will never be poor and probably will have a media career after footy as well. After all he gets to stay at a club he loves, a coach he loves and a strong roster that has decent players around him to work with and maybe even a title contender.

So if all that is true why not tell the club straight away that as long as they come in around that figure I'll sign now. Stop all the speculation tell his manager to get it done and show the rest of the playing group that close enough to the best offer is good enough to stay at a great club like the Eels. Lead by example like RCG has and make this clubs culture one of inclusiveness and a little financial sacrifice to keep a premiership contender roster all together.
