I know. I think he should have been starting him for a while now. Matto is a better middle than Paps. It’s a pretty red hot middle with those guys starting.

RCG, Matto and Jnr are another level to any of our forwards. At his best Lane's probably the next best. People may say Papali'i or Marata. They are just more consistent.
Papali'i early in game had a 2 man overlap and just pinned his ears and run. Lane doesn't make those mistakes. He reads the game better and would of put his man away.

Agreed. Here’s hoping we develop some youngsters over the next few years so we have a good mix of youth and experience.

Or we may not retain Sivo when he’s off contract and have Simo and either Haze or Russell. If losing Sivo helps us keep our halves I’m all for it.

He's never going to be a player that puts the team on the front foot (that's just not what he is), but he is very dangerous in a team that is going forward. He does a job for us.

he seems to love playing with Dylbags, they seem to know one another's game pretty well

for this reason alone I prefer him on the edge rather than in the middle

When we use the Giraffe correctly he is unstoppable in that channel 15m out on the edge.

We just don't isolate him well enough consistently to take advantage.
