I never said that it is how a club should be run. What I did say is that there are plenty of big dollar corporations who would choose not no be aligned with a sporting club that does not represent their values. That's pretty obvious isn't it ?

Nobody said zero difference. The people who created these religions did so based on conscience. The people who accepted those religions and allowed them to flourish did likewise. Even today some categories of sin invoke an emotional/disgust response in many people while other categories of sin (drunkenness and gambling) are just seen as poor lifestyle choices. Religion might be used to explain the emotional response, and people like Gronk might ask But-why-are-you-eating-shellfish? But ultimately it is a matter of conscience. Just like how secular people have laws they're obsessive about and other laws they disagree with.
