Barrett is a leech similar to Ricky Stuart imo.

His coaching record speaks for itself.

He hasnt been involved at a club as a player or coach when they have won the comp.

What he did develop at Penrith they have had more successful seasons since Barrett left.
The way he handled himself at Manly whilst head coach was alarming particularly the handling of Jackson Hastings. The Dogs situation wasn’t all his fault. Gould has plenty to answer for too.

I hope Ciraldo doesn’t have the same fate as Barrett.

I dont think he will.

I think Ciraldo is a more rounded type of individual that will correlate well with the players.

Tactically i am not sure but i suppose he may leave that up to Gus.

Barrett has poor man management skills as was seen at Manly.

You only to have remember him as a player he spat the dummy a lot on the field like a poor spoiled child at times.

Exactly my thoughts. I wonder why BA wouldn’t consider someone like Seibold? I think he has plenty to offer. Is it because he is a chance of being a NRL first grade coach again? He is a former NRL coach of the year and has already achieved more than BA has. I’m almost certain he has reached a preliminary final with Souths.
Defence coach for England under Eddie Jones.

We should approach Eddie Jones to gauge his interest.... Bring Siebs with him.... Could be a master stroke!!! Even if the last yawnion coach who took on a 1st grade league coaching gig wasn't exactly a resounding success....

Wait Madge Maguire's only failure was an inability to drag the basketcase Tigers out of the doldrums. Prior to that ...

After a playing career spent mostly at the Canberra Raiders, with a brief stint with the Adelaide Rams, he became assistant coach of Melbourne Storm under Craig Bellamy and in 2009 became a head coach in the Super League with English club the Wigan Warriors. He was previously the head coach for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the National Rugby League.

In his first year as Wigan Warriors' coach Maguire won the 2010 Super League Grand Final.[3] In his second year he won the 2011 Challenge Cup and was then signed by the Rabbitohs. In his first year as an NRL head coach he took South Sydney deep into the 2012 finals series. In 2013, Souths finished the regular season in second place and in 2014 they won their first premiership in 43 years.

Eddie has a swagger, charm about him & is a great man manager.

He would bring in corporate support straight away and generate interest for the club.

Though you have to weigh that up with his tactical nous if he had a strong coaching team around him with league knowledge.

Eddie isn't stupid & would watched league for a lot of his life and it would be easier to convert to league then going the other way.

Well Eddie has said that he wants to coach Souths. Maybe he could start with a small under resourced club like ours first and see how he likes it.

Madge was stupid going to the tigers he basically killed any chance he had of coaching again in the NRL.

The Tigers are like us they didnt spend the money in the right places and have too many yes men on the board.

When at Souths he had Rusty who would turn every stone there was to win a competition and money wasn't a factor.. Look at the Burgers family...

On to my next rant..

Penrith - Win a competition and have good juniors
Storm - Win a competition and have good juniors
Roosters - Win a competition and have good juniors
Souths - Win a competition and have good juniors

I don't even know where our juniors are coming from anymore.
We used to have all the high schools in the area full of our juniors but they have all been pinched.

Nathan Brown was never recruited as an assistant coach ffs, he is involved in scouting and junior pathways for us. Something he has always wanted to do. Its something we desperately need.

No idea where you guys get your ideas from.

The Parramatta Eels have engaged former NRL player and Head Coach Nathan Brown to lead a review into its Elite Pathways program.

The Club remains focused on continuing to increase the number of local juniors in our NRL squad in line with its development club philosophy.

Parramatta Eels General Manager of Football Mark O’Neill said that the review is looking at how the Eels can offer the best Elite Pathways program available so that our local talent has the best opportunity to progress through to NRL level.
