It can be non-profit and he can still take a wage. Same as it can be non-profit and the business is cashing in on the NDIS. He could also be doing it purely out of the goodness of his heart and obtaining no benefit whatsoever.

What we do know is that he made a decision to the detriment of the team and the club I love. Unless he wants to provide any further mitigating circumstances other than I wanted to give it to the NRL and what about Luai, he’s a merkin with a “c” in my eyes.
I get the outrage, but I also get that some people might think that there is more to life than bashing about trying to get a ball across a line.

Dunster needs to just get back on the park next year and get some confidence back.

Anyone expecting anything else is being harsh on the kid.

That was a traumatic injury that takes 2-3 years to get over physically & mentally.

I remember Ashley Graham took 4-5 years to recover from that shocking ankle injury back in 2003 when playing for Parra.

He probably didn't play his best until he joined North Queensland.
Same injury happened to a soccer player in England. He made it back but only played a handful of lower tier games.
He was just over 30 when the injury occurred. Not easy to come back from.

I’ve got no idea how he’s aligned to the charity. I was just going off a previous post that he owns a charity. What was the point?
He owns a business with his brother (disability support Work, Steve Dresler owns a similar business called Whatabiility, also has a charity attached). There's a charity attached which is a separate entity. There was a suggestion that he didn't pay the fine because the charity would be impacted. There was another suggestion the club could have contributed to the charity. I am trying to point out that 1. If you found a charity, you don't fund it from your income and therefore 2. The club contributing to the charity would not have made any difference to his fine still needing to be paid to the NRL.

At least Scott would kick someone on the ground...I think we need his grubiness.
Even in the canbraaaa game, wighton was going for Moses all night and only big unit Mahoney stepped in.
We need a thug or two in this squad who won't take shit from cheap shot merchants...
On the money there Soto. We need a couple of grubs and blokes that won't let cheap shots happen. Penrith is full of thugs and we needed a thug or two on Sunday. Even though Klem is pretty much signed with the Tigers I would make a last-ditch effort to sign him he won't cop any shit. Scott and Klem would rough some of those merkins up.

Ah, I See. Thanks for the clarification. So the outcome is Matto’s a merkin 😁

I was going to post about Dresler. We are so lucky to have him still involved with the club.

Matto seems to have gone down the same path.

I'm also suprised some think Dunster could be a star. I think he could be an ok NRL player. Nothing more. I feel average would be his ceiling.
His may even be flushed out and not play NRL again. He isn't taking SIVO spot. Simmonson,Russel are all ahead of him. Cini most likely as well plus Waqa if still here.
Don't see him getting into our side in 2023.
Have to disagree Hindy. In that semi against Souths, he was thrown in without playing a game for months and he was flawless caught all of his kicks and did his job. He was a 21-year-old kid in his first game and he looked calm and safe. He was brilliant against Penrith in the semi-final he was carving them through the middle and making good yardage he has plenty of potential. I can guarantee he would have put on a lot of size since his injury he would have only been able to do weights for the first couple of months after the injury.

I don't think he's a merkin. But I do disagree with his decision. Mostly because as far as I can see, if he cops another charge, he's gone for more weeks. There won't be the option of a fine next time. He better play clean from round 4.

And also...... Most disability businesses don't 'cash in' on the NDIS. The funding goes direct to the person with the disability, who then purchases services from a business at an agreed rate. The business employs workers same as any business depending on what service they are offering (support workers, allied health professionals etc). Same overheads as any business employing staff, and same issues of cash flow when they don't have enough customers. Disability based charities are a different kettle of fish altogether.
