I dont think the Tigers will give up Simpkin. They have an ageing DH and they have lost Liddle and Nu Brown.
Not like we are in a strong negotiating position.

We don’t have a lot of depth in the spine however as others have said Rua Ngatikaura is in the top 30 this year who is a dummyhalf/lock in the Brendan Smith mould. If the swap happens my guess is Will Smith gets upgraded to a top 30 spot.

Jake is a top talent, Covid really screwed his development. Whatever happens with him I hope he kicks on.

Gee, I wish we had have made better use of the bench in the previous ten week to spread the minutes across the forwards, so we weren't fatigued when it mattered...
The previous ten weeks were irrelevant. It was the 80 minutes in Townsville that made the difference:

Or maybe Gould was just making excuses for whichever coach had to play the winner of Penrith/Souths in the grand final? The long minutes our big blokes played this year made them more fit, not less.

Totally, he needed to spread the work load

That's why i hated his comments that our 2 propsnare paid alot and should play more minutes
Just wrong bullshit. One of these myths that nuffies repeat with zero understanding of the game. Yeo and JFH play huge minutes in the middle every week. Were they fatigued in the grand final or supremely match fit?

Or maybe Gould was as usual just stating the very obvious... and only mentioning the final straw that broke the camel's back.

Come grand final time our forwards were gassed through lack of preventative measures, and you know it.

Just because the cap goes up does not mean Moses and Browns value on there next contract should go up.

Munster is a premiership winner and is on 1m. As i said 1m for Moses is plenty.

It will be disappointing if the club bend over and go any higher.

Moses might get more $ than Munster for the reason that he is (or might be) more important to Parra than Munster is to Melbourne.
We must be way more desperate to win than them.
Melbourne also probably feel like they can find great halves pretty easily whereas we should feel like we are cursed with respect to finding/developing even decent halves.
We have to make decisions that are about winning a ship in the next 2 years. Throw everything at that objective.

They also have a back 3 that do most do their work each and every week. While we have a couple of lazy slugs bludging out there on the wing.

We should let Sivo/Blake go this year I reckon….I like both players at their best, but they rarely produce enough…Sivo is always dominated in the ruck (thus isn’t worth $500k) while Blake just doesn’t work hard enough on the wing plus those errors….

If Dunster produces his late 2021 form, he will be very good. And there is enough options for the other wing between, Cini, Russell, SL, MK (Russell looks a smart player/Cini has good Post contact metres) at this stage…while I like what Simonson did at centre…

plus we could recruit…

Nah even BA knows you have to manage a 33yr old with dodgy knees.
Hope so mate. I recall Rheed in 2021 playing 80 every week before he did his shoulder. He was then rushed back from his injury and was playing 80 every game until the inevitable happened and Stone became our 9 and we all know how that worked out. For better or worse BA likes to get value out of his top players.

Well we weren’t gassed in Townsville or any of the previous games. What was different about the grand final? Gould tipped we’d beat the Cowboys and lose by 4+ tries to 2 against Penrith. Also tipped the Townsville weather would hurt us the following week.

If you listened to people who know the game you wouldn’t be so confused by coaching decisions. Gould knows his shit. You know f**k all.
