Oh, man - all this wheeling, and dealing, from the Dogs will make it so much sweeter when they crash, and burn.
The Daily Mail are running with the story that millionaire Moses is throwing cash around and buying a new flash car. The Parramatta BMW insta post sure looks like a freebie to me.Electric.
GAY!
Lomax not worth anything like that, although he thinks he is. He'd improve with our team imo but even then no centre worth that much.I think you will find that we will retain Sivo. Blake will go and we will go to the market for a centre. Even though he isn’t my favourite I’d give Simonsson a go at centre. I still think Zac Lomax needs a change and I’d give him $750k to come over.
Still need to manage players carefully during training between games, particularly after a hard game. The point is fatigue doesn’t build up over the season. It builds over 80 minutes, which is a separate issue, but by the next game the players are ready to go again. The exception seems to be the week after playing in hot weather, which is why it’s a winter sport
Yeah I tend to agree. Seems a decent enough player but still has a few too many boneheaded plays in his game to warrant anywhere near 750K IMOLomax not worth anything like that, although he thinks he is. He'd improve with our team imo but even then no centre worth that much.
Might be time to change to high intensity, smaller and SKILLFUL, forwards. Not battering rams as need skill to break up tough defences like Panfers. On them I can't believe they're not offside, they arrive when ball barely leaves the ruck but never seem to get penalised. In my opinion, we were gassed after 5 minutes because we simply don't know how to compete with that sort of intensity for long periods of time. The Panthers have fine-tuned that art over the last 4 years, or so.
I thought we competed well for the first 5 minutes, and then Penrith lifted a notch, and we couldn't keep up.
I think our team are fit; we need to work on playing at high intensity for longer periods of time.
Except Storm have BIG forwards, you forgot to mention that!I think their defensive strength comes from a lightweight pack full of toilers and two strong defensive halves. That's been Melbourne's strategy over the years as well.

And we seem to clear the ruck far too early allowing a quick ptb to create half and full breaks. We need to change that this season and again be like Storm who never seem to get penalised after going to sleep on tackled player.
In theory but lets see if they just become leaner more mobile battering rams.I think that's why we've opted for signings like Moimoiseah, Hopgood, etc. - they're leaner, and more mobile, and should help us in the ruck.
Yeah we weren't matching up physically, but completing at 70% meant the score blew out and we didn't get a chance to fatigue the Panthers.I don’t think it would have mattered for that game. Even if we controlled the ball they were still making metres at will while we struggled to get out of our 30m zone. Even if we held the ball we were still done because they were playing too fast and we had no answers.
The benefit of these leaner, more mobile players is in defence, not attack. In theory but lets see if they just become leaner more mobile battering rams.
No that's tactics. Strategies are more long term and based on constants over that period. In this case your strengths are a constant while opposition weaknesses are not.Yes, strategies should change week to week, based on changing circumstances and the strengths and weaknesses of opponents.
He predicted we'd beat the Cowboys and also predicted Penrith to score 4+ and for us to score no more than two. Obviously everyone predicted Penrith to win, they were a much better team. They were paying about $1.37 ffsIt's amazing... senile league pundit predicts team who are raging long shots will lose game! Just everry pretty much every other person in the media and this forum... but keep on post-hoc hero-worship quoting any authority figure you can cling to when flaws your simplified posts are highlighted and questioned.
No chance we would be doing any of that. We only made it to the grand final ffsStill need to manage players carefully during training between games, particularly after a hard game.
NAS is the only big one. Some others are tall but fairly lean for their height.Except Storm have BIG forwards, you forgot to mention that!
Being not too big for their knees is the main thing.NAS is the only big one. Some others are tall but fairly lean for their height.
Exactly. The benefit of these leaner, more mobile players is in defence, not attack.
So whether they are ‘battering rams’ Is beside the point. In defence you want your players to chase the collision.Exactly.
