The game plan to beat it is to not let them score or get too far ahead. As much as their kick returns conserves their pack, their aggressive defence wears them downThere’s no game plan to beat it. They just have the right players for the current rule interpretations. They were kissed on the dick when Covid brought in a faster ruck.
The whole point of structure is to accommodate players that lack football instincts. The more instinctive the player the less structure he needs.Moses and Dyl aren't instinctive... they are more instinctive than they are structured. But they are told to play structured.
We scored more points then Souths last year…..we probably also have those instinctive players too. But if we dont practice it, they wont use it
What about inside the oppositions 30m?We scored more points then Souths last year…..
And keep the ball away from them, obviouslyThe game plan to beat it is to not let them score or get too far ahead. As much as their kick returns conserves their pack, their aggressive defence wears them down
By playing to our strengths rather than trying to play like themWe scored more points then Souths last year…..
Did we score a lot of long range tries? If so, why? What about inside the oppositions 30m?
Not during the 9's!!! Tries under the posts FTW!!! FFS......I still get confused why it matters where the try starts from... it always ends in the samespotplace and is only ever worth the same amount of points.
I think it can legitimately be considered an area of weakness and something to focus on and improve to increase the total amount of tries. As other teams who score less from further out could improve that area of their attack. So I don't know if scoring more from further out comes at the expense of scoring fewer closer in.I still get confused why it matters where the try starts from... it always ends in the samespotplace and is only ever worth the same amount of points.
We did alright last season.I think it can legitimately be considered an area of weakness and something to focus on and improve to increase the total amount of tries. Yes but shouldn't we look to improve areas of weakness? If scoring more tries further out comes at the expense of scoring fewer closer in then fair enough, but I don't think that's true.We did alright last season.

If you score from further out, doesn't that mean you didn't get closer in and therefore couldn't score from closer in (because you can't score twice obviously)?Yes but shouldn't we look to improve areas of weakness? No I think the stats go by how many times you scored relative to the number of times you were in the 20.If you score from further out, doesn't that mean you didn't get closer in and therefore couldn't score from closer in (because you can't score twice obviously)?
But you need to be in the 20 to score regardless.... the tryline is on the other side of the 20.No I think the stats go by how many times you scored relative to the number of times you were in the 20.
For us that’s defence. The best attacking side (Melbourne) only scored an extra 2 points per game. Meanwhile we conceded 6.6 points per game more than Penrith. That should be our focus. Hopefully we find some defensive toilers among the new recruits.Yes but shouldn't we look to improve areas of weakness?
That might be the priority (and usually is) but it's not everything. For us that’s defence.
It should be close to everything. Our attack was premiership quality. Our defence wasn’t.That might be the priority (and usually is) but it's not everything.
