Well Penrith dont think he is as good as Edwards so there may be something there. What play making skills has he shown up to date?? Nothing, he may be a decent running fullback but at 825k a season surely it’s a huge risk. Bred not bought lol.
We don't know what any of them were offered or accepted, and any given merkin who says they do is likely full of shit. And while I agree that Edwards would be on less, the fact is he is not as good a player as Crichton. However he is a specialist fullback and good enough for Penrith's style of play. A better (and more expensive) fullback would need to be more prominent in the team's attacking shape to get value out of him, which would reduce the involvement of other expensive players (i.e. Luai, Cleary and Yeo), reducing their value. They offered him 700k. Edwards would be on approx 550k. They could off paid the 800k to keep Crighton and let Dylan go. Put him at fullback and have 450k to spend on a new centre and be costing themself the same.
They chose Dylan as the better option.

I’ve heard that we’re not a million miles off that amount either as ours and theirs are both cap contingent amountsLater in the article it states that the Tigers offer for Moses is $1.5m. I wonder where they read that?

It would be a no brainer if we had Daniel Mortimer off our cap.I’ve heard that we’re not a million miles off that amount either as ours and theirs are both cap contingent amounts
Merkin you reckon the Panthers offered Crichton more than Edwards, so even they think he's a better player ffsDylan is a better player. Crighton could potentially become better. He may or he may not.
Right now as it stand Edwards is superior. Great defense and organises the line well. What makes you think Crightons can organise the defense well and be a better positional player? Or does positional play, setting defensive line and last line of defense not count?
Athleticaly Crighton is superior. The rest are all assumptions based on you having no idea.

I don't think I did.He is 22 ffs. He’ll improve.
Ja and let the new coach decide on 2025If Moses ends up taking the Tigers cash or something similar from the Dolphins for 2024 (surely the dogs aren't still in the running with a big money offer after paying Crichton what they're paying him), who do we look at as a potential half for 2024 and beyond? We'll have a decent chunk of change to offer someone... Any worthwhile halves with a good long kicking game that might agitate for a release if a rival club like ours had such spare change to give to someone???
We should be, because he’s not worth anywhere near that money!!I’ve heard that we’re not a million miles off that amount either as ours and theirs are both cap contingent amounts
This guy needs to move on, we’ve had him at his best, and the fact he hasn’t signed is ridiculous and disrespectful to the club and his mates…wtf is he waiting for, i believe it would be best for both parties if he moved on, in we concentrate on SandersI don’t know about you guys but I’m not fussed if he leaves. We still have him this year and by 2024 he will already have passed his peak. Ben Hunt who I rate highly was self aware and took a paycut to stay when he knew his best was past him despite being a current origin player. Moses knows that he will also regress which is why he is trying to squeeze us as much as possible which is why he as yet hasn’t committed.
Of course it’s about the money 🫤You may very well be right. He doesn’t have reason to leave unless it’s about the money.
It’s been that drawn out as fans nobody cares if he stays or goesI don't care if Moses leaves. I reckon we may need a new direction and I am happy to have a rebuild year in 2024 with hope in 2025 we are on the fringe of finals and by 2026 we have a fresh squad ready to challenge for 3-4 more years.
It's silly to expect to be up the top challenging every year. Knowing when to blow it up is important to long term success. Do it to late and you can end up taking years to rebuild. Be smart about it and it can be a short turnaround.
I was thinking about that the other day. As much as we all complain about how this shit is playing out in the media, it kind of conditions us to accept that he might go. Ultimately we are now prepared for any outcome and if he does leave, the outrage will probably be less than him announcing it suddenly last November. It’s been that drawn out as fans nobody cares if he stays or goes
I also think dyls signing have eased any concerns that moses might leave.I was thinking about that the other day.
