Moses does have a spiral but I don’t think he is confident he can kick it accurately consistently. I’ve watched him do them in the warm up and occasionally in the games. The only time he will attempt one in a game is if he is in the middle of the field (left postish) about 40-50 out. Because he kicks it off the outside of his boot there is a huge margin for error so wants to give himself room to not kick it out on the full.
I think he concentrates on landing it within the 10m more than hoping for a dropped ball ..... tactics maybe? Coaching?

I know exactly what you're saying.

He f**ked up 2 of them from memory in the Prelim in Townsville and seems gun shy since and playing percentages....

Mitch is paid what a million a year he should be practising them at training so he is confident in a game.

As much as i cant stand Cleary he just doesn't stop he is a perfectisnt.

Lol. Well when Moses has 2 x grand final rings. Played for Australia and won multiple origins then we will call them evens.
Maloney did all that and Moses is better than he ever was. It just depends on how strong your team is. f**k, Keary won three grand finals. He did it by 'taking pay cuts' to stay in strong club sides. Moses is all about the money, which is why he has never played for one of the heavyweights. Hayne was the same. He didn't snub us for the Roosters, he snubbed us for the Titans ffs.

Or concede a seven tackle set. He is so good at landing his high kicks five metres out that there's very little risk of conceding seven tackles.

It’s unfair to say Moses all about the money. He also likes Parra a lot.

From watching a lot of college football I have good insight into what a program needs to do to go from being average to capable of winning. The big signal is the coach. We need to upgrade to a champion coach. Bellamy namely.

I agree but does that mean we should be guaranteed a premiership within a given narrow timeframe? We haven’t won in 36 years but the current management structure is only a few years old. We should expect them to deliver more than their predecessors, but a club that hasn’t won in 30+ years has a lot of growing to do before it gets close to the big boys. We peaked last year and then were dismantled by the salary cap. Hopefully we peak again in the next couple of years and go one better, but since 2016 (the last year of our old management structure) only six other clubs have even made a grand final.

If we are indeed getting bigger, results on the field will improve in an iterative manner. There will be steps forward and backwards over a long term trend of improvement. It already looks like that might be the case, but even then there’s no model of growth that will give you a clear year-on-year climb up the ladder until you win the comp. It might only appear so if you look at a very narrow sample (e.g. the most successful club of the day) and narrativise what amounts to a series of partially random outcomes.

And now I’ve been sitting here so long it’s going to be difficult to wipe.
