Re Cini you said similar about Greig. Just needs an opportunity amongst better players like he did in the pre season. Surely hes better than Dunster or Waqa.
No he's not.

His defence is better than anything Papali’i offers. That is our biggest problem at the moment.Yes but he’s not a prop, he barely cracks 100m a game. He’s not a metre eater and it’s not like he has great balls skills I’m not sure he improves the side in any shape way or form. He’s another decent first grader that we are paying a premium for. Yet we were happy to lowball Papaliiiii who is a game breaker. Another nothing signing for a club that’s going nowhere.
Talmololo yes, but Murray, Radley, Yeo not so muchThe modern day lock plays like a prop.
Papa defends on an edge, totally different argument so we are happy to pay 600k for a bloke who is solid defensively?? Him being good defensively hasn’t seemed to do much for he Tigers the last few years. Just another nothing buy from a nothing coach at a club going nowhere fast. His defence is better than anything Papali’i offers. That is our biggest problem at the moment.
He’s a lock not a prop, we already have two of those. He’s decent defensively but he’s not a metre eater or a game changer. Just a buy for the sake of it. Anything than have to bring a young bloke through. That would require coaching and we all know that’s not Bea Arthur’s job.
We call ourselves a development club but we have a coach who’s shown almost zero faith in juniors in most of his time here. Unless of course if they are from a certain club or have a certain last name……..
f**kin' oath we would... Tedesco is washed up and Cleary is just another Jeff Robson...
Gutho doesn't spray front rowers.Correct he isnt a prop, not big enough and doesnt make the metres needed from a prop. He used to be a lock and still does a decent job of lock but the modern day lock needs a better passing game tham Joffa.
If you guys have got him, you have got a good one. Works hard, gives all but not high impact. Works hard in defence but gets caught out laterally when tired. Above all of this a great bloke and a leader in the club. If he has gone Im very disappointed (not sure in him or the club) and wont hate him at the Eels which will be a strange sensation for me. Too good a bloke for you guys, doesnt fit the Kulcha. Wont cop Guffo spraying him. Not the kind of bloke to be abused by a skinny bloke with a top knot.
The modern day lock plays like a prop.
Just plugging the Papali'i hole, me thinks.Sounds like he’s just what we need. We are building something Speshal!!
I can only assume a few in here haven’t been watching Joe Ofa play. He’d walk into our 17 and improve us. Personally I’d be surprised if Wests facilitate the deal.
Someone needs to plug the hole in Arthur’s brain.Just plugging the Papali'i hole, me thinks.
Maybe they could do it with your typing finger and we could kill 2 birds with one stone.Someone needs to plug the hole in Arthur’s brain.
He is playing better than he did with you guys in 2022, worse than 2021. The actual answer to your question is that Papali'i in 2021 had a good halfback who could get him the ball as he was hitting a hole. At the Tigers at the moment he is getting early ball and having to a lot more grunt work.
Last two games he was really good and in every game there has been no shortage of effort. Your question implies he is a player that would have a sulk and not play to his best and I just dont see that in Ice. Do you? If so why would you want him back?
I dont get the thoughts that Ive seen some have saying Papallis been poor. Sure he hasnt been at the level he was at Parra which won him second rower of the year but overall hes been a good signing. As you say its also been hard for him playing next to the worst 7 in the comp. Agsint Manly he made a break and offload which should have been the match winning play only for the imp inside him to drop the ball.
Greig has the potential to be that enforcer with more FG experience and hopefully improved fitness as he matures more he can play that role for us.
Considering we have put 2 years of development into him it would be waste to see him go now and thrive at another club.
With a 12m salary cap and a 30 player squad, 400k is your average player salary.
So 450 - 500k would probably be about right for a better than average middle.

Papalii I wouldn't go as far as to say he has been poor.
However he has had no where near the impact he had at parra. Maybe that will change as the season progresses.
There is nothing average about Spencer Leniu who is on $525K at the Roosters.
