Do I have to do everything around here?? ffs!!Maybe they could do it with your typing finger and we could kill 2 birds with one stone.
What’s in it for the Tigers?? They just extended him 4 months ago.I don’t think we paid full freight.
I had a staff member who once asked for a pay rise. I said that she needs to work harder, get to work on time etc if she wants more money. She said that she'll work harder if I pay her more.
I get it, he improves our team. Who says we are paying 600k? Perhaps we’ve offered an extra year at a reduced rate or the Tigers are chipping in. There’s plenty of variables that we don’t know the details of. I’ll leave that to those whose job it is to balance the cap. They’ve done a pretty good job of it at late.I don't think you get it. He is not worth $600K+ that he is supposed to be on. He is a solid player who occasionally has a standout game. Compare that to Spencer Leniu who is a quality player all the time and still only 22 years old and will cost the Roosters only $525K.
If we are paying anywhere near $600K then we should be going for way better then Ofa. Daniel Saifiti would be my top pick. He would be the best pick of any of the supposed available Props. Would make out front row rotation probably the best in the league. He is worth the sacrifice of pissing off all our dead wood and putting in bare minimum juniors or reserve graders at $120K to make up any difference.
A team like the one I posted earlier would be up there with the best of them and definitely a title contender.
I think Simonsson is good enough at centre. Hopefully Russell or Dunster can become good enough on the wing.
We are chasing a lot of players. It doesn’t mean we want to pay overs for any of them. And who said he’s on $600k ffs?
No battle you moron.
Some people can see what is holding the team back from a premiership and admit that there need to be changes, because we are never winning a comp with this coach.
Others just like to argue for the sake of argument.
And you, well you are just an idiot who loves to think he's different to the "plebs".
The true comedy is you describing someone else as "woke".
Ofahengaue is much better than those three. He has played Origin ffs.
This is tragic. These morons are driving us to another spoon.

Joffa lost his way at Brisbane due to some personal issues. He had a young daughter and his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer, I think that would derail anyone. Kevin Walters told him he wasnt wanted and he personally called Maguire saying he wanted a hard nosed coach to get him back on track. He came to to the tigers, put in the work and won an origin jersey back. We clearly realised how terrible he was that we gave him a 2 year extension 4 months ago.
I have no idea why we've released him. Our squad is a bit middle forward heavy and we've got 30 so I'm assuming we have a half or a centre lined up to come in.
He’s a lock not a prop, we already have two of those. He’s decent defensively but he’s not a metre eater or a game changer. Just a buy for the sake of it. Anything than have to bring a young bloke through. That would require coaching and we all know that’s not Bea Arthur’s job.
We call ourselves a development club but we have a coach who’s shown almost zero faith in juniors in most of his time here. Unless of course if they are from a certain club or have a certain last name……..
He is playing better than he did with you guys in 2022, worse than 2021. The actual answer to your question is that Papali'i in 2021 had a good halfback who could get him the ball as he was hitting a hole. At the Tigers at the moment he is getting early ball and having to a lot more grunt work.
Last two games he was really good and in every game there has been no shortage of effort. Your question implies he is a player that would have a sulk and not play to his best and I just dont see that in Ice. Do you? If so why would you want him back?
Agreed, but I would put both of them in the sh*t category. Average would be someone like Gutful.
Correct he isnt a prop, not big enough and doesnt make the metres needed from a prop. He used to be a lock and still does a decent job of lock but the modern day lock needs a better passing game tham Joffa.
If you guys have got him, you have got a good one. Works hard, gives all but not high impact. Works hard in defence but gets caught out laterally when tired. Above all of this a great bloke and a leader in the club. If he has gone Im very disappointed (not sure in him or the club) and wont hate him at the Eels which will be a strange sensation for me. Too good a bloke for you guys, doesnt fit the Kulcha. Wont cop Guffo spraying him. Not the kind of bloke to be abused by a skinny bloke with a top knot.
I just don't see enough aggression in him. He is still just a 4th or 5th string bopper for me. He would have to show some real improved leg drive and tackle aggression and urgency to go up in my estimation in any pecking order if we had a better roster.
It may come with more NRL exposure, but then again it may not. Leg drive(with speed) and aggression are a props best friends. Have we seen it from him yet?
Who the f**k said we are happy to pay this much? Were the Tigers even happy to pay this much with all the forwards they have? It sounds like more media bullshit.so we are happy to pay 600k
28 this yearIve posted plenty of positive posts here about Joffa and you ARE getting a good 'un, but he is 30
