Explain to me why the Tigers would let Joffa go now for Frizzell in 2024?
Cap space...
Explain to me why the Tigers would let Joffa go now for Frizzell in 2024?
To clear space for 2024 and 2025. Arthur made clear in the presser that Ofahengaue would benefit us this year and not necessarily next year, implying that the Tigers might want him gone next year but still want him for this year. Basically, we will take him off your books when you need him gone (next year) but for us to benefit we need him now.Explain to me why the Tigers would let Joffa go now for Frizzell in 2024?
So let me get this straight, Tigers would let Joffa go NOW to free up $225K but still have to fill that squad spot for this year at a minimum $125K, so a saving this year of $100K......to enable us to maybe sign Frizzell next year?Cap space...

Yeah that makes perfect sense.
If you don’t let him go now you might be stuck with him next year and the year after.Makes no sense for cap or roster space to let Joffa go now. Like I posted above, we'd save max $100K.
explain to me how it works then?Thats not how it works.
Well trying to make sense to you is pretty difficult sorry

You’ve already paid Joffa top 30 money for his services to date. He can still remain as one of your top 30 paid players if you choose and not have to replace him in the squad. Therefore you don’t need to bring in another minimum salary player and can front load another contract in order to help pay for Frizell in subsequent years.Makes no sense for cap or roster space to let Joffa go now. Like I posted above, we'd save max $100K.
Well explain why you are halfling Joes salary but not the min wage?
If this is the case why did BA release Jake? Would he have released another player if it exposed shortages in our roster? Did Jake get special exemption to leave? You're making it sound like he was surplus to requirements. I know few of you obviously think he was and not even up for Ron Massey IIRC, but the loss has left us in a bit of a pickle.
BA said he is excited to go and sit on the hill and watch Jake play at Brookie. If this is the case why did BA release Jake? Would he have released another player if it exposed shortages in our roster? Did Jake get special exemption to leave?
Id suggest the majority of the social media scrutiny Jake was under has diminished considerably so why let him go now?
Anyway I hope the kid kills it at Manly and BA can enjoy "just being a Dad again" until Matt is ready anyway.

Well in the absence of a signing and with @Stagger eel revealing that Sanders busted/sprained or something his hand, then the only reason we let him go was for his own well-being.If this is the case why did BA release Jake? You must have missed this a few weeks ago. Rock bottom.Id suggest the majority of the social media scrutiny Jake was under has diminished considerably so why let him go now?
Manly fans would treat him like a king just to piss us off.BA said he is excited to go and sit on the hill and watch Jake play at Brookie.
I hope he brings earmuffs and a hat when he sits there.
He would cop it on the hill - Manly fans show no respect to anyone associated with the Blue and Gold.
Media latching onto an incident and playing it for all they are worth. Wow! Thats never happened before. All players deal with such issues. Look at the Latrell incident recently. You want to blame someone blame the media. They see an opportunity and squeeze it dry.Well in the absence of a signing and with @Stagger eel revealing that Sanders busted/sprained or something his hand, then the only reason we let him go was for his own well-being.
