If we effectively trade Joffa for Frizzell then its a major L in my eyes
He went off the rails a little when he first arrived at the Tigers. Was a bit of a cheap shot merchant too. However during the past 18 months he has become a leader and refined his game. I think we are acquiring him in an upward trajectory, I still think he hasn’t reached his prime despite previously playing origin.

If you’re carrying 3 $700k props, that hooker/outside back problem isn’t going to get fixed. Or it is but the second someone cops an injury/concussion, you’ll be going from a $700k prop to a $100k one.

The point is we should be producing them on a fairly regular level and keeping then in our system long enough to get some benefit from them and eventually you will find that the players coming through will have real pride, love and affection for the quality club that we are and what we have to offer over other clubs besides just money and some if not many will choose to stay for a little less to be part of our/ their club like the best clubs manage to do.

The best rosters have players in their roster on unders that could easily go to market and get more but they cose to stay put to be with their mates and be happy. Winning games generally keeps that going and the pressure from beneath guarantees it.

Without a healthy junior system in place you will never have a quality balanced roster or sustained power house club.

Like I said earlier in the season, I may not be able to predict with any great certainty who will win this years Premiership, but what I do know is that the winner will have 3 if not 4 props in the 17. Of that I am sure.
And three of them will be on elite money?

How many of Penrith’s middles would’ve been on elite money these past two years? I’d say only Yeo, and possibly JFH.

This is up to the player, not the club. Penrith actively retains the ones you describe while allowing the mercenaries to chase the money elsewhere.

What he left for is the most relevant point. Thats what determines if he is a Tiger or an Eel (mostly).

To get young players that will ultimately be worth north of $600K, you have to get them at all first, for $275K.

Ignore the peanut. When Stefano left the story was our management was to slow. And we come in to late and where prepared to pay 275k
We lost Trey Mooney and Doorey at the sametime. On here people blew up.

Irony is we are paying Murchie about 220k. N.Brown 550k and Waqa 500k.

Our club gets plenty right but like many clubs they also make mistakes. Stefano was a huge one.

Not really mate.
My post that you replied to was regarding the fact that to my knowledge, the asking price for Stefano was way in excess of what he had shown/proven at that stage of his career.

His selection in the Emerging Blues squad in no way justified what they were after at that time.

If you see Emerging Blues squad selection as worth more contract dollars (and I am not saying whether it should or shouldn't be), I would be interested to know what dollar value you would put on it. That's a genuine question because from what I was told at the time, the ask was about $100k more than minimum wage and was put to the club in a fairly aggressive manner.

So 230k? What morons. How do you let a kid like that walk for 230k then sign Murchie for the same

Learn to read and interpret what I post troll.

He could have been our Leniu on the bench all season last year when we made the GF and maybe our boppers wouldn't have been soft marshmallows by the time they got to the big dance. Quality depth coming from beneath gives options.

We have/had none. No options and therefore we burn all our forwards to zero by the end of a long season. Look at what Cronk thinks that the Panthers should be doing this year if they are to do a thriple.

The need to not play hard at 100% all year because they don't have the depth of previous years. The need to be playing a little under their best and just keep ticking away enough to finish in the top 4. Yet their depth is still better then ours because they are producing juniors all the time.

Not space science jar head. Stop marching to your masters beat and think a little. Maybe watch the team play without that braille stats book in front of you. Who know you might enjoy the evolution and understanding of the game it gives you.

Our origin props got skittled by a 350k prop Moses Leota. Come on for 20 mins and dismantled us basicaly. Game over. Not seem anything like it. Our middle got destroyed

Wikipedia says we offered 70k per season o_O While Tigers offered 800 k for 3 seasons, This was prior to him maiking his first grade debut btw.

You can compare us not signing him in 2020 to a dumb signing in 2022.

I was always under the impression that he also had issues with the club which is why he wanted to leave...

Parramatta have no experienced playmaker backup after departure of Jake Arthur

The departure of young halfback Jake Arthur leaves a gap in Parramatta’s playmaking stocks, see how the coach plans to fill it should disaster strike.

Parramatta captain Clint Gutherson could be a surprise option in the halves for the Eels following the departure of playmaker Jake Arthur to Manly.

Eels coach Brad Arthur revealed his back-up plan should regular halves Mitchell Moses and Dylan Brown be unavailable for games this season.

“We’ve got a few options. I will worry about that if we get to it but we might be able to shuffle ‘Gutho’ (Clint Gutherson) around. Daejarn Asi is playing a bit of fullback in (NSW) Cup,” Arthur said. “But I haven’t thought about it,” Brad said.

BTW Hindsight is a f**king wonderful thing...

Lets look at our club this year I think with the Joe O signing it has improved our forwards so much its also most the best in the competition with Greig improving as well.

Asi has not impressed at fullback at all and him now going to 5/8 in cup doesn't fill me with much optimism...

None of them are props of the same class that wiped us.

Props deliver Premierships, everyone else jumps on the back of that.

Open your freaking eyes ffs! As painful as it maybe I suspect that you and a few others here need to go back and watch exactly who won that GF for the Panthers last year.
