Joffa also originated from Brisbane and I think our list of players who have played for both the Eels & Broncos is quite small?

off the top of my head I can only think of:

Stu Kelly
Carl Webb
Chris Walker
Corey Norman
Brett Plowman FTW!!

Casey McGuire

How has losing Stefano cost us in any way? I'm not debating his talent but middle forwards are not our weakness.

Mate our team is dying for a quality 3rd prop and it is the main reason why we will not win a premiership till we get one ffs!

Add that we now also have a DH problem and an outside back or two short of real power and or speed and we are just making up the numbers till it is all sorted.

Getting Offa is a step in the right direction kinda, but not really. We need a 3rd genuine prop. Especially when we are hit with injuries as we have been this season.

Like I said earlier in the season, I may not be able to predict with any great certainty who will win this years Premiership, but what I do know is that the winner will have 3 if not 4 props in the 17. Of that I am sure.

Oh sh*t, yeah. I need sleep. I forgot him totally. But then again we need to see what he can back up the next month first before we count that chook. But he looks to have the goods going forward. Lets hope Potato Head knows how to use him properly.

Nice mate!
Plowman superseded by intro to league
Can’t believe I had forgotten so many of those players. No recollection of Lowrie playing from the broncs!

let’s keep it real basic for potato head. Let’s start, by hoping he gives greig more than a 4 minute cameo.

we’ll get to stage 2 on how to use greig properly, once potato head completes stage 1.

Best thing Todd ever said back in 2014

Ironically Brisbane have never played at Brookie since quite incredible the gifts they get off the NRL how do you not play at a venue in 10 years.

I think I already made it and you know it.
Not really mate.
My post that you replied to was regarding the fact that to my knowledge, the asking price for Stefano was way in excess of what he had shown/proven at that stage of his career.

His selection in the Emerging Blues squad in no way justified what they were after at that time.

If you see Emerging Blues squad selection as worth more contract dollars (and I am not saying whether it should or shouldn't be), I would be interested to know what dollar value you would put on it. That's a genuine question because from what I was told at the time, the ask was about $100k more than minimum wage and was put to the club in a fairly aggressive manner.

I’d still argue Oregon is better bang for buck at $400k than Stefano at $700k. Especially if we considered re-acquiring either with our present pack.

At the level both are right now sure, but I don't think Stefano is on $700k now, do you? At $400-500k now I know which one I would prefer though for real impact and or cover when either of our main 2 go down.

All I am saying is that he was a real talent and even Fitler could see it. Now as for what he was worth at the time, Well he was worth more then minimum, how much more? Well that is up to our retention committee and how good they are at placating his disgruntled family at the time. Obviously they weren't all that good at it or weren't willing to go to their demands.

Negotiations is an art. Not every negotiation though goes your way. This one we lost. My concern though is that we haven't produced anyone since Junior that is of his level and quality. We finally did and we somehow got it all wrong. None of us will ever know if we could have addressed the families concerns other then with big $$$ and or promising the kid early NRL exposure.

Some here may think they know, but it is all just Chinese whispers and innuendo. Maybe something could have been done, but maybe not. Who really knows?

All to late and pointless now. He is gone. Lets hope we can keep the next one aye?

Really dissapointed to lose Joffa. He'll become a real fan favourite for you guys.
Well Frizell wants at least $700k, current SOO player. You need the cash and Doueihi won’t medically retire. Can’t see you re-signing him if you extend Brooks. Your team plays better without him.

If you’re carrying 3 $700k props, that hooker/outside back problem isn’t going to get fixed. Or it is but the second someone cops an injury/concussion, you’ll be going from a $700k prop to a $100k one.

If the deal wasn’t across the line, he shouldn’t have used the media as a tool in the negotiations. If the deal was actually cross the line, then he was just being a tool.
You realise he has a regular weekly radio spot as a sponsor of SEN and he was asked?
