Nothing at the time he said it.
But I didn't say it was incorrect, just that it didn't age well.
If the deal wasn’t across the line, he shouldn’t have used the media as a tool in the negotiations. If the deal was actually cross the line, then he was just being a tool.

Wow if you think that is petty, you are going to have a tough time in rugba leeg.

you know what I’d call petty? When another club signs a young prop from Parramatta and that club and the player ask for an early release so the kid can play first grade but Parra say no, keep the kid in reggies all year but then play him for the last 10mins of a couple of games. One of the most petty moves I’ve ever seen and Stefano and his family will never forget that.

Joffa is now the third player that the Tigers have allowed to go to Parra early despite what Parra did to Stef. I don’t think anyone associated with Parra including fans should be throwing that stone in their glasshouse

Mate I don't give a f**k if Parra are petty, in fact I encourage them to be so. Parra first Tigers and everyone else last. What I care about is what is best for Parra. Do you even do Parra forum?

The kid and his family dist us after his brother got injured and his family insisted he play NRL when he clearly wasn't ready. We did him a favour and the Tigers mind you too by holding him back to play lower grades and strengthen up more and mature. Even when you guys finally started playing him in the NRL he clearly wasn't ready. He was stiff and robotic and had way less impact. It has taken him what 2-3 years now to finally look like a proper NRL player.

Just because a player and his family think that he is ready doesn't mean they are. I know you guys had to play him in and out of the NRL so as to keep him and his family happy, but we didn't and thus did you guys a favour. We could be the bad guys while you guys could stoke their egos.

Even if your stupid and desperate coaching staff didn't realise it at the time. He maybe big, but they are still just kids. Not everyone is Haas and even he was mangled at 18 when he went up to NRL level first time around. Now you have a starting prop rotation equal to any in the NRL in him and Klemmer. Maybe we can sort you out with a half too and you can sign one of our budding junior stars and demand we release him early too, but we don't so you don't cruel him either. Then you can accuse us of being petty while we are setting both the kid and you guys up for success again.

Like I said we did him and you guys a favour.

Your welcome.

Clubs releasing players don’t mention where they are going out of respect to the new club signing them. It allows the new club to announce their new signing.

There are plenty of things to put shit on the Tigers about, but this is not one of them.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. That's what 3 hours sleep does for you. Cheers. As you were.

The fullback is a gun too

Their whole squad is gun, just like the Broncos were when they were younger and without Reynolds. They will splutter around against quality teams until the find that magic half. Brooks should have an easier time of it now that the team is infinitely better and they now know how to run onto Api's ball playing and direction, but still not the finished thing until that play maker quality play maker who can deliver consistency.

The real issue for them is 2-3 years from now if they haven't been delivered a half and Api is gone, then these young kids will get antsy again and be worth way more then they are now and other teams(hopefully Parra) will start to pick them off again one by one. I like the look of Jahream Bula and I think he would look smashing in Blue and Gold at the end of Guthos current contract.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if we were already looking at Junior Tupou after he tore us a new one and the Parra players were talking him up after the game. He really impressed me that night how aggressive he was and wouldn't take a backward step and even stuck it to Gutho and the lads after the game. Great stuff. I was hoping he would stay under the radar, but he has started to make those idiot commentators take notice now too. So he will be a in demand up and comer from here on in I'm afraid.

We should make a play for him come November for 2024 and if successful demand an early release. Haha...

But even if we can't we should still sign him, he is exactly the sort of player we are lacking in the backline and you win Premierships with. We need to convince him that we are in a way better position to do so then those rudderless Tigers who will be scratching around for at least another 2-4+ years while looking for a half. We are ready and a finals team now.

Its a tough one mate.

Do you pay him close to 400k a season on potential before he had played a FG game which then affects our cap in other areas.

If we did that could we have afforded the likes of Papali'i in 2021 and built a balanced team to get to a GF while paying Stefano on potential for the first 3 years while he developed.

At the end of the day the club wanted to keep him but the Tigers just blew us out of the water early on.

We need to serve in kind. The winger is low hanging fruit right now. We need to be aggressive and make a genuine play for him now.

Remember you can talk to all players at any time, you just can't make them a formal offer until November 1st of the last year of their current contract.

With Joffa coming across he will be the 29th Player to have played for Parramatta & Wests Tigers during his FG Career.

Wests Tigers have only had 269 players so basically more then 10% of there players have played for Parramatta.

So out of these 28 players so far who got better value. I have us at 13 players mind you there is a lot players in that lot who didnt play a lot first grade for either club.

For the Tigers in this list you could only say - Hodgson, Richards, Whatuira & Stefano played better football at the tigers then they did at Parra. And in the case of Hodgson he still played for NSW while at Parra the only difference is he won a comp in 2005.

The ones i have bolded in black i would say Parra won out with those players

Like Waqa Blake? (Oregon played NSW 16s 18s and 20s and Australian Schoolboys)

Was never in the same class as Utoikamanu from what I saw.

Like Hindy said, the best forward we have produced since Junior. We butchered it totally for whatever reasons. To late now, he is gone. We need to learn from our mistakes(not that we ever do) and hopefully develop another one that we can actually keep in time for when our two current palookas need replacing.

How has losing Stefano cost us in any way? I'm not debating his talent but middle forwards are not our weakness.

Joffa also originated from Brisbane and I think our list of players who have played for both the Eels & Broncos is quite small?

off the top of my head I can only think of:

Stu Kelly
Carl Webb
Chris Walker
Corey Norman
