that’s a friggen disgrace. I understand if it was a two week suspension. But it goes against the rules they’ve set up not long ago. Even if found guilty of five counts of touching I have no doubts he’s not going to jail.
I suspect there has been some 'unofficial discussions' among all parties and stakeholders here.

The newspapers are reporting his lawyer indicated in court that he expects the matter will be resolved when the case returns to court in 3 weeks time. If he expects the matter to be resolved at that time then there can only be two outcomes.

The NRL has taken this on board and thinks that 3 weeks is probably about right, so he can stand down until it is resolved.

If things don't pan out the way the newspapers are reporting what his lawyer has indicated, then that will be rather annoying for all concerned.

It's just been a merkin of a year for us as a club.
Started with the Matterson drama. Then the whole will Moses signing crap. Lane injured in trials and then again. RCG injured, Grieg out for the year. That's some major long term injuries accompanied by plenty of others missing games.
And now the Dylan saga. The seasons a write off.
Surely Moses becomes the 7 for NSW too and we're running around with Rankin in the halves for 2 matches.

I gave up on the season after one game. You could see it was just going to be one of those years.

I wonder what the nrl would have done if brown just pleaded guilty today. Would that have had a different output? Now the story will be in the headlines until the next court appearance.

A real test of character for our Eels. We will see what they are made of. Dylans D is hard to replace.
We rely too much purely on the brilliance of the individual rather than any team work too.

When you take away the brilliance of the individual, you can't replace that with the next man up as easily as you can when it is team work that got you to where you are.

We have 3 games we need to win before the bye. I still think we are capable of that. If we managed to win them going into the bye then have bsicaly a fit squad and hopefully Dylan back I reckon we will make some serious noise.

Issue right now is if we drop one or two of them. And that's certainly possible.
Tank the rest of the season and hope we can draft Victor Wembanyama

Well that wasn't an option today. That is not what the purpose of the court hearing was. Court hearings are a long drawn out process all over the country. No one wants to get caught out by someone who has made a hasty decision in these criminal matters.

Especially the trys he saves in D. Need some f'n top coachin from this point. I hope Asi gets his chance. Very unpredictable now Jake has gone. Fingers crossed.

You’d have to think unless the charges are dropped they have to stand him down for at least the season given they’ve pulled the trigger and gone early.

To be honest I think Asi is probably a better replacement for Brown. Jake was probably the better replacement for Moses. Neither probably replaces Browns defence though.

Depending on the severity I would hope that time served would be incorporated into the punishment if found guilty.

Let's say it's an incident worth a suspension of four weeks. He gets stood down for three, so does he only have to serve one more week or four more weeks?
There's a lot of questions raised with this stand down decision.
