Rumours and Stuff

Watching it now. Very good. Like Cleary said about us before the first final, "If we don't get it right they can beat us. If we do get it right I don't think they can." Simple stuff. They had a better team. If they played their best it didn't matter how well we played.

This year I don't think anyone has a better team than we do (though there's quite a few that are as good). The comp is wide open.

Penrith don't have a better team than us, but they play a better game then us. Every player is totally connected and playing their role for the entire 80 minutes.

We on the other hand still do it in patches, but we have been getting better at it. Will we get to their cutthroat level fast enough to blow them and our other rivals away at the pointy end of the season? Only time will tell.

Defense is the key. We still aren't connected enough in this area. I fear what they can do to us at the ruck and then out wide once they get the upper hand. How we play our hooker and who we have available by then will probably determine the outcome.

My source is no longer at the Tigers. I know with 100% surety that Parra are paying full freight and that that is the reason it went down the way it did (Tigers were not shopping him). I am not 100% in exact figures of JO or IP's Contract for obvious reasons but from club sources they are comparable and both 100% paid by their current clubs.
its nice that Warren told you that...

Are you saying that JO himself told you personally?

So the NRL has told Hunts manager he isn't allowed to talk to other clubs.

But Gus has said he has spoken to Ben Hunt in the off season 😂

That's just the media headlines and click bait beat up stuff.

All clubs and all players(managers) can talk to whoever and whenever they want to. What clubs can't do is make a formal offer and start talking money and package deals directly.

But if say Gus wants to make it clear and known to Hunt that he loves him and is willing to do whatever he can to get him to the Dogs, then that is allowed and the NRL can't do a thing about it.

How could they, it would be paramount to restraint of freedom expression and or speech and imposing on our civil liberties if they tried to do that. Anyone can express an opinion and desire for a potential future employee. It is all fine line stuff, but you try and prove that a said club induced a player to leave his current club without real proof like a contract or some kind of other tangible evidence like audio or video evidence. Good luck.

Remember the Warriors got into trouble because they offered Dylan a contract.

Spoken like a guy who is a beta.
Interesting.

I'm no alpha and dont want to be because to me, people arent worth my time.
I only really care about my family, my animals and few select friends who have proven their loyalty and their honor.

Everyone else are aquaintences and I dont really care what happens to them.

When I went through open heart surgery in which I waited 6 months for, i had no anxeity about it or dying. Just another hurdle to jump and if i died I died. I just made sure my affairs were in order, my family and pets were to be looked after, picked the most trustworthy family member to execute my will.

The only time I felt lonely was when the nurse told me to lie on the bed and wait for the wardmen to arrive to take me to the operating theatre. I closed my eyes and the only thing that appeared to me was a wolf who looked straight at me and then stayed by me. I thought I would see my wife who died 7 years ago but no, it was a wolf that stayed by my side. Knowing he was there any sense of loneliness disappeared. The wardmen came and the wolf disappeared and i never felt lonely after that nor did I see the wolf again even when I woke from surgery. I felt little pain after surgery and did not press the morphine button once except for when they had to take the drain out from under my rib cage and only because the nurse said it will really hurt and yes it did really hurt as they tugged and pulled to remove the drain from me.

I have had a male friend come to me and ask me for money as he got busted by the ATO and had no means to pay the fine. He cried when I gave him the money. He said to me, I can only repay you over 2 years and I said not a problem. He did pay me all of it back and he is now one of my most loyal and dependable friend. I have had other women and men who have borrowed from me, and never even mention let alone pay back the money and of course they are no longer acquantences as it showed to me what poor quality humans they were.
I really only depend on myself as no one really cares except my parents and that close group of friends. I had 2 cardiologist and a surgeon. I originally let them drive my treatment but after a few visits, i knew it was up to me. I had to drive them to get things done and I challenged and questioned everything they told me until they gave me a reasonable explanation to their advice.

i was seeing 2 women at the time and they both begged me to let me come to the hospital to bring me food every day and I told them no and never told them the hospital i was at. Their over pampering annoyed me to much.

That's an insight to me. So judge me as you will coz I dont give a rat's arse.

I don't see why everyone thinks that Hunt(and his manager) is in the strong position here.

If the Dragons hierarchy is half smart they would bring them into their offices and with the coach with no uncertain terms spell out to them that there are only 2 options that this WILL play out.

One they all kiss and makeup and they all row in the same direction and work towards making the Dragons great again or two, Hunt will sit out the remaining 2 years of his contract on the sidelines and not get paid a red cent for breach of contract.

Now everyone needs to remember that Hunt is at the end of his career. He can't afford to just wait it out. Time is running out on him. If he were to sit it out then that's it for him, done and dusted and no more pay.

Now you may say but that is $850K that the Dragons are hobbled on the salary cap. Yeah sure, but who the hell are they going to get that can fill that void if her were to leave. They would be like the Tigers, but worse as a destination club. So two years of him sitting out or two years of having $850K extra to spend on a one or two new decent players isn't really going to change their fortunes by all that much.

But by sitting him on his arse will send a strong message that they will not be trifled with. Other clubs and managers won't take them so lightly and think that they can easily just agitate for a release. This is the Dragons chance to set the tone of what is expected and what they are willing to sacrifice for the long term future of their club.

Of course they have to mean it when the lay the law down and Hunt and his manager need to see it in their eyes and tone that this will not end the way they expected it to. Like I said, the Dragons have the upper hand here if they have the balls and the smarts to know the hand they have to play here. If they played this right I dare say that Hunt would sh*t his gears realising sitting out 3 years for him without pay and maybe litigation is basically forced retirement and not worth the angst and trouble. Therefore I can see him ending up doing an about face and releasing a public statement something like now that I have had a chance to sit down with the new coach and seen his vision bla bla bla...

But even if he chose to sit it out, it still doesn't hurt the Dragons since there are no playmakers anywhere near as good to replace him with and would only help improve the Dragons public image as a club that doesn't fold to the whims of the players and their opportunistic managers. Also if this were to happen, the Dragons need to get immediately on the front foot in the media and explain that it is all Hunts and his advisers choice and they are done being the soft touch whipping boy. A contract was signed in good faith. Who the coach is is not and was never part of the contract and coach, just like players leave all the time.

But in saying all that, lets all watch how the Dragons handle it. My money is on Hunt. The Dragons don't seem to have the balls or the nous to realise that they hold the upper hand here and need to press it all the way.

Don't we all do that?
Judge someone as a whole based on just one thing we might not like?

Matto does heaps for charities with his own money and time, but to a lot people, the one act of missing 3 games has tarred him forever as a tight ass, selfish, so and so.

Great point.

And Matto regretted what he did, tried to pa the fine, but got blocked for no sane reason.

If he plays, I have little doubt we win at least 1 of the first 3 games. History now, but to say he didn't care us false.

____________
Also, as a big fan of Matto, how good is it that he isn't good enough to start for us???

I think Carty has nailed the right edge forward slot, Lane owns the left and Hopgood the middle. So a guy who played Origin last year is off the bench as first middle in the rotation!!!

Parra paying full freight

Just FYI - I will attempt to chase this comment and say "not true" as often as I can. I'm not a volume poster, so I appoint @Poupou Escobar to do so on my behalf.

I am sure your comment is not true, and I say this as someone who hopes you keep posting here and enlightening us/ having a laugh with us.

I strongly recommend you check your source.

Mate all I said was that you weren't an Alpha. Women behave differently when it comes to alphas. Trust me what they say and do with them versus the rest of us are two totally different things. I know my initial post was short and somewhat disparaging at face value, but I didn't feel like expanding so I just made it short and to the point. But generally about 15-20% at most are considered Alphas and their lives are considerately different in regards to the way the opposite sex treat and behave towards them.

I have seen it countless of times and it just blows my mind at times. Girls/women that you would never ever think would be part of this or that or do this or that and yet as soon as the 'right' kind of man is involved, then all bets are off. It is insane what I have seen or been part of(not because I'm an alpha) but because I was part of a Alpha group of friends. I won't go into specifics other then to say it didn't matter what age(legal age of course) young or old, married or not, groupie or not, girl next door or whore barfly, if they see what they want they tend to go for it. Some overtly but the more proper and demure types just do it very quietly and on the sly.

They were the ones that initially shocked me. How many girls/women behave like nice normal innocent girlfriends that are loyal and faithful to their men and then wham my mates are nailing them like nobodies business. Then they act like nothing ever happened and if you didn't know the studs they just dropped their pants for or if I wasn't the intermediary that set it all up, you wouldn't have a clue as to what they are capable of getting up to. Women are just a hell of a lot more sneaky and secretive about what they do and who they let get in between their legs. Most of us don't have that pass that opens that part of them up.

As for all that other stuff you have posted. Sorry to hear it mate. I hope everything is going well for you now and so terribly sad and sorry about your wife. My condolences. On that score I am definitely not looking forward to what is coming my way.

All the best.

I am not saying that

Then we will never really know either way. Both sides need to save face on this deal. So unless they both come out and agree to one set of facts, we will always be just speculating.

But if the Tigers were the ones that wanted him off their books as JO is stating and he didn't want to leave, the odds are in Parra's favour that they did get the Tigers to cover some of his salary over the 2 and a half seasons since he is on such a high amount for a player of his class mostly a benchy proposition. It only seems more plausible and logical.
