No, the advantage is that you save a portion of his salary in future years. We are under the cap this year anyway, there is no advantage to push out Joe O midseason.

Pardon us for thinking the Tigers might make a questionable recruitment and retention decision
Hes a good player, will fill a position for you guysYep, Ofahengaue has at least a couple of years left in his prime. He is 28 this year. Off contract at 30, which is younger than some of the forwards playing Origin this week.

Seriously, no one really cares, you should mass debate this with your pal Silverdale Phantom. We don’t seem to be worried and Joe O seems comfortable with it, look after our juniors in Twal and Stef and be nice to Ice, and all is fine.I catch myself asking this question Pou, but you trying to be obtuse?
So why midseason?

Ask Sheens, from what was in the article today, Joe was told he was not wanted, so perhaps you should ask the genius at the Tigers why he was being told to go. Not sure Pascoe has the answer to anything much, maybe for cap relief seems most likely despite your thoughts.Agree 100%,,.......but you called me out, so it would seem you care.
(and still noone has answered the question....why midseason despite the fact Ive given everyone the answer).
I dunno? Why did the pervert cross the road?(and still noone has answered the question....why midseason despite the fact Ive given everyone the answer).
Are you sure?i live in reality.
Im getting bored, but just to help out.
You are wrong, but I dont expect anyone to take my word. How about following your own logic. The Tigers are tipping in, to push Joe O out.....midseason to pursue another forward, that we havent and arent signing? Does that make sense? We are under the cap this year anyway, there is no advantage to push out Joe O midseason. it would be a lot better for the Tigers to let Joe go at the end of the year. I cant believe people here cant follow that logic.
Parra needed middles THEN, made the offer, paying full freight but only if Tigers release midseason, Tigers release despite not signing anyone else or replacing him.
I actually do know what happened (dont expect anyone to believe me) but Im shocked that you guys actually think that the Tigers release a good player, midseason, for no benefit, because.....reasons?
Are you sure?

My favourites were the ones where you couldn’t even keep your own narrative straight. Didn’t even require trawling. Just the capacity to read and a competent memory.no Im not. Why dont you trawl through all of my posts and requote your favourites to let me know that I exist in reality as well as your midnight dreams?
BOOM!!! we got there eventually.I answered it previously, because if as you stated the deal was off if not now, then why do the Tigers care if they have no reason?
If that fact is true, then the answer there is obvious, the reason for mid season is because if not they lose the benefit of having him off the books for 24/25, and they lose the cap value that frees up.
BOOM!!! we got there eventually.
Well that's f**king obvious, but off the books in 24/25 doesn't preclude a payout in 23, in fact in enables it because it triggers a need to vary the contract.
So if they have money left in the cap this year ( as you state they do ) , they can pay Joffa out this year, and free up his entire contract value for 24/25
Guys we got there!!! Ofahenague isn’t playing for the Tigers next year apparently
Parramatta are paying full freight, for 24, 25. This was the motivation for the midseason signing. That is all.....Im bored...Im out.
