Parramatta are paying full freight, for 24, 25. This was the motivation for the midseason signing. That is all.....Im bored...Im out.
The fact you’re using the term ‘full freight’ shows you don’t understand how contracts work. The contract isn’t transferable, it’s terminated between the two parties (with terms in favour of the party who wants it least) and a new contract established between the player and his gaining club. From the player's perspective he just doesn't want to be out of pocket, so if the gaining club isn't offering more than he was on he will want a payout. The losing club doesn't have to pay it over the duration of the original contract. They can pay it all up front.

Well look, I can't bring sanity to these popular-but-flawed opinions without being contrarian. It is by definition impossible to shitcan widely held beliefs without looking like a merkin, but it isn't my intent to piss merkins off. I just don't care whether I do. The truth is more important to me.

I think Brendan Hands is a solid player and I'm excited about seeing him grow into the role. But he has come up with some very shit plays, including lack of effort. I've even provided video of it. But every merkin gives him a free pass. "hAnDs WaS pHeNoMeNaL!!11!" He's done a couple of good things, particularly running at broken defences late in games, but otherwise I think he's been pretty ordinary. Hodgson has been ordinary too but instead of a free pass, every little thing is under the microscope. Our last big game was against Souths and Hodgson was very good. The next week he worked his arse off against the Cowboys, making 21 tackles in 31 minutes. I just can't see why he would be dropped. At his age he is likely to have plenty of niggling injuries.
If you can’t see why Hodgson would be dropped and you think Hands has been ordinary, then you TRULY mustn’t watch the actual games!

whoops, I took your troll bait again…you must be just too smart for everyone….

My only agenda is to get you idiots to examine your shit opinions and realise nothing is as good or as bad as you think it is. When you heap scorn on some merkin I show you his positives. When you suck some other merkin's dick I point out the weeping sores. I'm not twisting the facts, I am showing you the other side of every shit argument you try to make.
Then why not change your username to Devils Advocate or at least change that shit avatar to one.

For some people there is ebb and flow and for many there just has to be the widest of gaps vacillating bewteen sheer unbridled joy and fire n brimstone.

@King-Gutho94

Since you’re the David Middleton of our forum and the real stats guru, could you please help me?

Can you please break down hands and Hodgson games a little further.

can you find stats on errors, missed tackles, penalties conceded, 6 agains conceded, line breaks, line break assists and try assists.

is there a stat for ineffective kicks, or the like?

if it’s too much work, just tell me to F off.

Ok Pou, let me be more succinct. Joffa was going to be on $650k for the next two years. Tigers are paying $0 for him for the next two years and have paid $0 above his Contract this year (ie. No payout of future years). No doubt you will twist this to something that assuages your cognitive dissonance, but you do you.

Ive been as clear as is possible about this and the motivation for the Tigers to let him go midsseason, but I understand the truth hurts your sensibilities about the great powerhouse that is Parra....and Tigers suck etc etc etc.

Just enjoy Joffa (not sarcasm) and lets leave it there.

thanks. Not a great deal between them except hands runs a little more and hodgo loves giving away penalties. I’m sure he’s responsible for a few 6 agains too. So much for his leadership.

This is not an option.

If one party breaks a contract, the remedies available to the other party are subject to that same contract, they simply can't do whatever the f**k they like.

If Hunt sits out at the Dragons behest, they will pay for it.

Edit: I should re-phrase that, Hunt sitting out and not getting paid is not an option the Dragons can enforce, only Hunt could choose that course, but why the f**k would he, when he can just go through the motions of honoring his contract and collect his coin. Meanwhile the Dragons are left paying top dollar for a merkin who likely deserves to be playing in reggies.

Yeah that is what I meant. Pick him just like they have this week at let him decided whether he gets paid or not. If he start kicking stones then off to Cup, just like what we did to Brown. I would let him waste his final two years as a player in Cup. That is his choice. The Dragons would not be any worse off. There are no instant cures for the Dragons let alone a top notch experienced half back. But at least it would send the right kind of message throughout the club.

But something tells me it would not get to that point. This is a game off chicken by him and his manager. They think that they can agitate and intimidate the club out of his contract,, but the Dragons need to make it perfectly clear that they are the ones with all the power here because he isn't a young 22 year old Talis, but a veteran 34 year old approaching the last two years of his career.

Now the question he has to decide does he want to spend it playing NRL being part of an exciting new rebuild or fizzing out in Cup and miserable? That is his choice. It is a game of chicken that I can see the Dragon winning if they had the balls to play it.

But course I can't see the dragons having the cahoonas.

ok, let’s assume that you are correct about Tigers wanting him off the books, in the “plausible and logical“ realm, why do you think that the Tigers let him go, mid season whilst we still need him, with no swap and no squad replacement from outside and during a period that Parra had an urgent shortage of middles?

If indeed the Tigers wanted him off the books like has been reported due to salary relief, then a mutual deal would have transpired so both parties get want they want. Parra are a very tight arse run organisation with MON in charge of the player finances. I can't see him paying full freight for a player that will always be a benchy kind of player who has few minutes.

Stop believing everything your contacts tell you. That's the problem with our own supporters who get fed nonsense from time to time for whatever reason that helps paint a rosier picture then what is really going on. The NRL is littered with false info by merkins trying to get a certain narrative out there. Use your common sense and evaluate what is the more logical outcome here? You seem to me to be a passionate but intelligent fan. Think about it. Both clubs need to feel they have had a win. If what you say is right, then only the Tigers are the winners. Sure we get a decent player, but at a very inflated price. That is not a win for us and if us dumb fans can see that, then surely our uncle scrooge of as HOF can too.

What you are describing here is what they call a Moloch outcome, not a Win Win outcome. If you don't know what that is look it up. It's a great theory and I wish the our leaders and institutions would used it when negotiating or we all used it in our daily lives more often. Maybe the world would be a better place.

You’ve already made clear you think this is what happened. I just don’t believe you.
