Would have preferred Emu & Carty tbh
For how many games? He may prove me wrong but I reckon he’s just one of those players who wants to play fullback simply for the pay increase, I don’t think he’ll actually make a good fullback.
It looks like 3 out of 4 of those were activation of contract options - the easy ones. And I would bet Strider's left nut that with Hodgo he has activated his player option so he is cheaper next year than this - or the other way round? What one would be cheaper I can never rememberWould have preferred Emu & Carty tbh
This is just proof Hodgson knows how to slow the ruck. He’s been doing it for years. Penalties only show the times he didn’t get away with it.thanks. Not a great deal between them except hands runs a little more and hodgo loves giving away penalties. I’m sure he’s responsible for a few 6 agains too. So much for his leadership.
Errors per minute are very different between the two as well. The difference in per-run line breaks and tackle breaks also shows the difference between an experienced player picking his moments and a rookie padding his stats. Obviously only one of them has a kicking game. The missed tackle comparison is considerable and I’d like to also see the ineffective tackle stats.

Nah I think what happened is obvious. We refused to match the Tigers’ massive offer for Papali’i, then saw they had a player supposedly on even more money and thought, we want to pay this guy as much as Wests are paying him. How can we make it happen yesterday?!?Parra are a very tight arse run organisation with MON in charge of the player finances. I can't see him paying full freight for a player that will always be a benchy kind of player who has few minutes.

Like this non-attempt on Perham’s try? What about the "should have but didnt lay a hand on him" stat?
What I think is feasible is that the Tigers have paid him his entire 2023 contract this year to compensate him for loss of 2024 and 2025 earnings. Meanwhile our contract with the player includes a significant component this year, as well as reasonable amounts for ‘24-‘25.He also said multiple times he didn’t expect you to believe him.
Then had a tanty when you didn’t believe him.

The same thing happened with Mitchell at Souths. He’s shown he can play at fullback, and at least will get plenty of ball. I suspect he will deal better with the workload than Latrell has.It is a lot of money to pay for someone who has never played fullback consistently at NRL level.
This would mean he’s not on the Tigers’ books in future years, allowing one to think we are “paying full freight”
All mutual options, though Doorey’s 2025 indicates a new contract.
