Hang on Im confused....i was told by some impecable sources in this thread that no players improve at the Wests Tigers?

He will only improve by his natural growth of age, experience and maturity. Then he will hit a ceiling just like Tedesco and Moses did until or if he is smart enough to accept the riches other more resource bountiful clubs are willing to shower him with.

Even if the treasure initially isn't as much as the more desperate and pathetic Tigers, who will try to bribe and seduce him to stay and he feels obligated to by some foolish and misguided loyalty to, he would stagnate and never reach his full potential until he moved on to bigger and better(greener) pastures. So for his own sake the sooner he pulls the pin the better his development and mental well being will be.

Look no further than Reece Walsh as a recent perfect example.

Relegation will not work here. If two teams got relegated that is the end of them. We don’t have the population, let alone a rugby league population to support it. Fans won’t follow them in reserve grade. No decent player will stay there if they are in reserve grade.

Can you imagine any player signing a contract without a clause that instantly makes them a free agent if the club they are playing for is relegated? And imagine all the supporters that would overnight just lose total interest in their team that has been shunted into oblivion for God know how long if not forever? I mean it is hard enough getting people interested in their club/team when it's in the NRL as a cellar dweller, imagine being a cellar dweller in the new oblivion comp? Yeah that will make the game great again.

Yeah imagine when the Broncos won the spoon in 2020 and if all their players had a get out clause? Hahahaha...No Broncos in the NRL? How much damage would that have cause the game? Imagine how much money would have poured out of the game and found its way to the Brisbane Lions. And what about the networks that pay 2/3 of the revenue to the game, what would they have said and done if that happened?

People are just so dumb. Really these are just a few issues I have not even deeply thought about and they stood out like dog balls.

Like I said, people are so dumb. No wonder I get laughed at and abused by idiots when I try to explain how the real world works and that all money(97%) comes from a Ponzi bank system that the globalist have created to eventually own everything and then reduce the worlds population by about 90% and enslave the remainder under a neo-feudalistic world model, when they can't even critically think about something that is so simple and straight forward to workout for themselves.

Idiots!

I think that's standard practice in UK Super League, where clubs are relegated from time to time - players are free to sign with another club to stay at Super League level (and perhaps Super League money?). All highly conditional.

I generally disliked Billy Slater when he was playing (ok being honest i thought he was a total dickhead). But his media and now coaching work has shown me a different person .... its terrible. I feel like I like him now. f**kin rabbit.

Conversly, i liked Freddy, but he certainly seems to be getting angrier and less likable.
I actually agree with some things he said in the interview, our media doesgo a bit hard at times. But he needs to take a chill pill.
I feel there are 2 types of coaches, the fatherly type like bennet, ba, bellamy... These types need good Assistants to improve players.

Then you have the technical ones like seibold, brian smith. The players really have to buy in with these coaches or the senior group are mature enough to keep the players together

Slater, i feel is the technical type but he has the respect of the players and he has very good Assistants. Josh hannay comes up alot on podcasts that i listen to.

As for us, ba is finally getting good Assistants like barrett and the senior group is teaching the youngsters. There were stories of rcg teaching emu about how he goes about pacing himself and I'd bet gutho teaches alot if the youngsters too like russell.

All this praise for the QLDers and their coaches(including Slater) is ridiculous. They are just as prone to criticism of their team and disloyalty to their players as we are.

Whenever they lose more then a series or two they too go into meltdown. The difference though is they have been the more consistently better team over the majority of the SOO era.

But only 3 years ago they were beginning to turn on each other again when Fitler did win 2 in a row and the headlines were starting to scream 'SOO is Dying', type of stuff because QLD were losing. They also started to chop and change players like we do.

But then they surprisingly started to win again and hey presto they are so wonderful and so loyal and dignified compared to us disloyal swill down south.

What about the disloyalty to Gagai as an example? He was shunted by Slater from a winning series and the Hammer brought in. I suppose that doesn't rate a mention because they won. But imagine if they had lost?

All I am saying we have seen this movie all to often, the winner always looks wonderful and loyal to his players and staff and a genius, while the looser falls apart and starts to chop and change looking for answers that never come.

Not saying that Freddy is a great coach that handles the pressure well, he doesn't. But Slater and the QLDers are hardly going to be much different if we start to kick their arse. Slater was a little bitch when things didn't go his way as a player, so what make anyone think that he would handle consecutive SOO series defeats any better? In fact I am actually hoping that we do win a couple if not more SOO series while he is still coach just so I can Chairekakia at his and QLD's expense.

But I'm petty like that.

That's a Good point but people do mature... You see it in players... So maybe Billy has matured but u are right, we need to see Billy losing a series of 2 to set what he is really like

There are two types of people. People who understand binary and people who don’t and people who try to categorise everyone.

Yep all contracts become nullinvoid.

It sucks for players who don't sign before the relegation match for new teams.

Ciraldos mettle is being tested now. I think he has better players than barrett had. How he reacts now will be interesting.

Well it happens all the time in the English Premier League. Some players have a relegation release clause, most don't. But maybe they don't live in the real world.

Each NRL team pays their players from the grant that comes from the NRL that covers the entirety of the salary cap. I dont think EPL teams are relying on grants to fund their non existent salary cap. Do you think the NRL are going to fund 9 million dollars to a club dropped to reserve grade? And how then is that club going to pay all those players?

The real world is completely different for NRL and EPL players.

The Premier League makes parachute payments to relegated clubs for several years, for exactly this reason.

Comparing the English leagues to Australian RL is like comparing the US military to the Aussie military. All over before a bullet was fired in anger.

There is real prestige and history in the English soccer leagues that is unrivalled in any other country. So sure many players will be willing to play in a lesser league over there. Unlike what would happen in Australia if either NRL or AFL were to ever insanely allow that to happen. Not that it ever would unless the lunatics took over the asylum.

Is that real world enough for you?

Geez the knives are out for the Tigers. Massive player unrest and it’s not getting better anytime soon.

How much is Api actually earning over there? Could we provide a saviour for him to club on a 2.5 year deal?
