Rumours and Stuff

Tahu was an origin rep , not in the same class, i hope the rumours were true that Penrith were paying part of his salary for the contract as he wasn’t worth the $600k . It would be great to pick up another rep centre but we are heavily invested in our spine and forward pack so I think at best we will sign a project player that we might get some value out of(hopefully better the lumelume).

Like you said, Waqa is expensive for what he delivers if Panthers are not paying anything.

I am happy with our centres. We need a hooker first and then a good meter eating winger.

However, our hooker qualifications are not too high - tackle well and give good long passes in the right spot to our playmakers and middle half. Like an Api or cook is an overkill.

I think if Asi has the stamina and defense, he should be our 14 to play maybe 20-30mins. Then he can also be cover for the backs or Dylbro moves and Asi goes to 6.

I was watching Asi on the weekend though and he doesnt seem to be a effort player. I was actually surprised at the effort plays that moses does. There was a break by someone and Moses chased from the left hand side. There was support on the right hand side for the player who made the break and Moses ran between the 2 and eventually the pass went astray because Moses was there. It was a big effort play and a very good read.

When breaks were made on the right, i didnt really see Asi chasing back.

But waqa played in last years gf. Doesn’t that make him the better player?
It made him the better player last year. Russell caught up over the off season and Simonsson has overtaken him. Was that supposed to be some kind of gotcha? There’s a reason Blake is in reserve grade for the first time since 2017.

In other signing news, teenaged Parramatta playmaker Ethan Sanders has signed a two-year deal with Canberra from 2025.
The Eels were among half a dozen clubs keen to secure Sanders, who was the player of the match in the club’s SG Ball grand final and also starred in the Blues’ under-19s win. However, Sanders is currently stuck behind Mitchell Moses and Dylan Brown, who have made long-term commitments to the blue and golds.

Does the Nov 1 restriction not apply to juniors?

Parramatta's star winger Junior Paulo opted to push for a downgrade to his grade two careless high tackle charge on Jojo Fifita in the Eels narrow win over the Titans in the following game.

Paulo was also offered three matches, but will now serve four after his appeal was thrown out.

Ffs Paulo why challenge it!

I call BS on that article. Paulo isnt a friggen winger, he's a halfback FFS.

Josh Lynn the other half was regarded as Qlds best 7 and was in the Broncos system, but was lured down to the Eels. Broncos were not impressed, he has played well and not sure why he’s out this week possibly injured. He played 6 in the SG Ball win, and played half back and goal kicker for the first 4/5 games of the season with Sanders out with a broken hand.
