he's pretty much assured of a regular spot in 25 with Wighton gone.

no other club other than the tigers or maybe dragons could do the same.

I can understand why the kid chose his path.

I can get why he is thinking great a possible starting spot.

But why wouldn't you stay at the Eels be the back-up half with Asi develop your skills learn from Moses.

You can see he only left for the starting spot as Penrith were also chasing him.

Who is he going to learn from at Canberra.

I don't know about that, but he could be a very decent prop if he keeps working hard on his game.

But yeah middle forwards are the back bone of any great team.

Halves then give you all the bells and whistles to expand your game and bring everyone on board.
Hes young, so i think with rcg and jnr mentoring him... He could be quite good

A higher chance of playing first grade comes with a higher salary. That’s a massive factor. He could suffer a career ending injury in 2025. He could suffer one before then ffs. A bird in the hand and all that.

Can’t they just hire a halves coach? Also, there is strong evidence that just getting NRL exposure is more important than mentoring - look at Harry Grant’s year at Wests instead of learning from Cam Smith.

Yep, who ever is managing him needs their head read. Ricky has killed more halfbacks careers than Peter Peters has had hot dinners. He should of signed an extension with us and learned under Moses and if he still can’t get a gig he could of went anywhere but near the Rickster.
Well Jake commented upon his move that he was excited to learn from DCE so obviously Moses has no cred.

Well that's about $450K that we just pissed up against the wall before a ball is even kicked in 2024.
Great recruitment from the team of HOF and Potato Head.

Hodgson, 33, has already taken up an option in his contract for 2024 valued at approximately $450,000.

You just have to acknowledge.
"Job well done team". Who would have thought this might happen.

Reports are they signed for a combined. $500k pa , 4 year contract. That’s a massive $2 million gamble for players who haven’t even played NRL, wait and see how it works out.
Im surprised we got Latu that cheap. In 2 years that will be peanuts for Latu. It would be for any first grade half and Latu is already getting MoM in Cup. No chance he doesnt establish himself as at least first grade standard. Its overs for Samuela but he is already playing NRL and to be blunt we will probably get the same output from him that we were getting from Joffa and at a $150K discount. Obviously paying overs for Samuela is part of the package to get them both but thats what it takes from where we are.

Good signings.
