Im surprised we got Latu that cheap. In 2 years that will be peanuts for Latu. It would be for any first grade half and Latu is already getting MoM in Cup. No chance he doesnt establish himself as at least first grade standard. Its overs for Samuela but he is already playing NRL and to be blunt we will probably get the same output from him that we were getting from Joffa and at a $150K discount. Obviously paying overs for Samuela is part of the package to get them both but thats what it takes from where we are.

Reports are they signed for a combined. $500k pa , 4 year contract. That’s a massive $2 million gamble for players who haven’t even played NRL, wait and see how it works out.

Journos are quoting Tigpies paying Fainu Brothers $500k each for 4 years. They are also saying Sanders outplayed both in the recent U19s state game. That being the case Id suggest Sanders is getting between 400 and 500. Crazy for unproven talent.

like Fainu, if he becomes a first grade quality half in 2 years, its cheap and a good investment. I dont think that anyone who watched the U/19 Origin could say that its a risk that Sanders or Fainu will become first grade halves.

I’m pretty sure Sam Fainu played against Parra a few weeks ago. Obviously I can’t be certain, since I was watching from all the way over here in Perth

Given their ability at such a young age it’s not a huge gamble, but still a gamble you’d only expect from a weak club. Both of them could be massive stars. Latu Fainu is starring in reserve grade and is a year younger than Sanders, who’s never even played reserve grade. Samuela is already playing NRL and the merkin could’ve been running over the top of Sanders in SG Ball this year. They have massive potential.

I thought $200k would be reasonable for a dude who’s barely played Flegg, but unfortunately there are desperate clubs out there, and there’s always someone willing to overpay for potential.
