Well he does come with pedigree. He was been selected in QLD rep teams from 16's and last year in U19's.

It's just that he started in SG Ball this year, so a bit much to ask him to play NRL without hardly even training with the team.

Barney Haslett much have come through juniors by now? He must be close to ready for first grade for you guys?

Isn’t not developing juniors a lack of planning?
Developing juniors costs money. Since our last successful year in player development (2017) Covid nearly sent the PLC broke. Spending has only recently recovered, hence our successful development year this year. Planning is only as good as your ability to implement the plan. That means money.

We beat three teams in the top eight, putting big scores on Souths and Newcastle. Against Warriors and Storm we had some of our best players out.

Newcastle then was not the same Newcastle now. We would struggle to beat them now. Certainly wouldn't put 40 on them

You could say that about any game. Penrith only scored two tries against us. Does that mean their attack is shit or our defence is great? Neither thing is true. You need to look at the whole season, not cherry pick games.

I think our forward pack is over rated and out of wack. Individually it's brilliant but we used to have a nice balance of offloading skilled players and straight hard runners in Marata and Papali'i. Both had great leg speed and just went forward.

Now we have RCG and a bunch of guys who can offload and create. Grieg is a but but slow leg speed. Morretti is probably next best behind RCG as far as going straight and hard.

Look at Penriths side. The pack isn't skillfull bar Yeo. But they all run like bulls with great legs speed and quick play the balls.
Most of their backs are the same. Straight and hard. To many of our forwards and backs just don't do this well.

Hopgood and Bryce are great and playing excellent. But they don't offer the same punch as Marata and Papali'i even tho they are more skilled.
Lanes also been missed. Barely played all season.

2024 we will be a lot better but 2025 is when I think we challenge again.
Paulo has been a big part of our problem this year. Form has been awful all year. Apparently he is on 950k
Very Poor use of our cap

People in the Penrith system will tell you that Gould was the mouthpiece, the system was built by Matt Cameron and run by him and Jim Jones. Gould did finance their COE when the Panthers got out of trouble after Gould got refinancing via James Packer (they were in manic cash flow problems )

Gould is good at self promotion but talent identification is not his forte.

No mate, they are the facts. Matt Cameron is the mastermind behind the Panthers success. Gould did all the big talking. Just like Ciraldo being the next big thing, he followed maestro to the Dogs. How’s he looking now compared to the under the radar Webster?
Why didn’t Matt Cameron build the system when he was at Parra?
