If it was 5 years ago I would have said pay it and get him back here. Transfer fees don’t go on the salary cap, and he is one of the few players worth it.

It doesn’t mean third party payments, it’s taking about a third party doing the asking so Melbourne can truthfully deny it. I’d take him in a heartbeat. Time to start taking some risks.

We can't medically retire him for a known injury as far as I am aware.

Would be worth a shot though for 400-500k at fullback..
