I have no idea what he costs mate and I won't be judging him as a smart signing or otherwise until he gets through a pre-season and we see what his role is in 2024 and how he goes.

He was a poor signing cause we have his position covered and wasn't needed. Regardless how well he plays we just have better guys in that position. Panic signing when trying to save our season when had injuries.

Who are the better guys that in 2023 covered Stone, Kaufusi, Papalii and Niukore again?

Hopgood,Grieg, Cartwright all stepped up. I wouldn't trade any of them for Joe O. They are all superior. And cheaper.
Morretti will fill his role. We also have Lane back.

If Joe can get his early career form back we will have a pretty handy forward pack. He did go backwards at the Tigers.

8. Barlow
9.
10. Reg
11. Lane
12. Carty
13. Hopgood

14. Matto
15. Joe
16. Grieg
17. Tualigi

18. Moretti

Ok, so who are your top 8 picks for the pigs each week without counting Joe O?

Edge forward: Brazel (21)^, Cartwright, Doorey, Guymer (20)^, Lane, Mataele, Matterson, Tuilagi
Middle: Campbell-Gillard, Greig, Hopgood, Makatoa (31), Moretti^, Ofahengaue, Ogden (28), Paulo, Rodwell (25), Taumoepenu (23), Tuivati^

Mine are:
- Hopgood
- Lane
- Cartwright
- Paulo
- RCG
-----
- Matterson
- Greig
- Moretti

The above 8 players between them missed 54 games last year - so even if they just miss half as many, that's still 27 games where we need to dig into:
- Makatoa
- Doorey
- Ogden
or Joe O.

Who is your preference for that 9th best forward spot?

Whilst Hop was an instant hit, it took the other 2 you mentioned 2 seasons to hit their strap in our system..

I reckon it might take Joe sooner than that, I'll judge him after spending an off season with us.

Isnt that good to displace our current first graders. those 2 are NSW cup players.

Personally he starts well ahead of Harper, Russell, Dunster and pushes Simonsson to the wing at the very worst. Also quite capable at fullback given we are also missing AMS for the season with effectively a half in Asi being the next logical replacement and never having played fullback at the NRL level. Harper moves to NSW Cup as next cab off the rank....

1. Gutherson, 2. Sivo, 3. Penisini, 4. Tracey, 5. Simonnson would be my backline if the club were willing to spend the money.

My point is we needed a strike back a lot more then a bench forward. Joe O would of cost about 400-450k. That's the reality of this situation. All he will do is reduce Hopgood or Mattersons minutes. Lane and Bryce are good for 80mins.
Matto is good for 60 and so is Hopgood. RCG amd Jnr are good for 50.
We need to cover 60 mins there and 15mins for Matto.
That's 75mins. Hopgood can take 55. We need 20 mins unless we take away more from Matto or rest Lane and Bryce which we tend to do. We have Greig and Morretti for these minutes.
A strike centre amd we get 80mins upgraded.

Serious question mate... when you and Hindy point out the obvious, do you really think that no one in our club also sees it and do you know for a fact that we made no approach to the player(s) concerned or is that just your assumption based on the fact they didn't sign with us or that the contact wasn't held in Tingha Palace?
MJC, there's no communication from the club about direction or strategy so all that Ram and Hindy can do is voice it out. It is a forum for fans to voice out.

As ppl have posted, it is obvious. But there have been many things that have happened like NRown not playing any matches and then playing the GF. We don't know what happenned so we voice it out.

So if people are getting SA'ed, do you advise them to keep quiet because someone else might know about it and just hope that the cops get the culprit. Or should they voice out by whatever means until someone who can do something about it hears it.

You might be priviledged to inside knowledge but if you can't share it, then to the rest of us, nothing has happened. Until a decent signing occurs, then the fans will voice out. I don't see what the problem is.

I'd also be happy with a bench of

Hands
Matto
Grieg
Morretti

With -
Doorey
Makatoa
Ogden
I'm still preferring the Paulo to bench

Wait, i'm missing something, have you dropped Joe O?

I would go:

10 Reg
9. Lussick
8. Grieg

14. Hands
15. Paulo
16. Matto
17. Joe O

Get Junz on at 15 to 20 min mark for 1st half
Give him the 1/2 time break to recoup
Play him for 15 mins in 2nd half.
Bring him on for the last 10 min or 15 min depending on how the game is swinging.

100%.
The more I read the more Im convinced our top 30 is full.
We are way heavy on forwards.
For Joe O's money we could have bought a pretty decent centre or winger.
From now its 2nd tier and train and trial only.
Thats why we are considering a last chance saloon player like Scott

Blaize Talagi is highly rated by the club and the probable reason why we are not going after a big name centre. I think I read somewhere that he is now in our top 30. I’ve watched him a few times and he looks to have plenty of class.

I’d rather we go after a winger to be honest. One that can make metres and help our power game.

Comparing someone complaining about a player that was signed or not signed and extending that to someone going/not going to the police in regard to a sexual assault is quite possibly one of the stupider justifications for the behaviour of some people I have ever seen on this forum and I have been on here a hell of a long time. There is no argument that even justifies such a comparison. Don't go there.... seriously. Be better.

Yes, much of what gets posted is obvious. The club don't communicate direction or strategy for a very good and obvious reason - they would rather 15 other clubs don't try and change that direction or strategy. I actually prefer the fact that contract negotiations at the club aren't played out in the media despite how frustrating to can be and obviously is.

People just need to learn some patience. And not try and justify it with outrageous justification....

Apparently bulked up as well which is good. When I saw him he looked very light. Mid 80s.

I have read somewhere that the club is waiting for the right player and they have the money for that right player should it occur. I also believe that there is quite a lot going on behind the scenes at a number of clubs at the moment that will see some players become available and that they are considered the right ones by the club.

Can play centre, wing and fullback..... all at a better than reasonable level and has played more than 60 NRL games. He adds more than Zac Cini and Isaac Lumelume....
You’d f**king hope so. Lumelume has never been in our top 30 and Cini is freshly promoted. How much do you reckon Tracey would be worth on the open market? I’d say about four times what Cini is on.

I reckon if the Dogs jag Tracey we may end up acquiring JAC. I’m not sold on this we are full and signed our 30th player either.
