I honestly have no idea what you're talking about, who has time for two accounts?

I don't want two accounts. The only reason I have two is that when this site was reconfigured it wouldn't let me log in as Lingard on my home computer - only my work one. So I chose the name Ivor, figuring that everybody would know it was the same person anyway. So when I post as Ivor, I'm at home - and when I post as Lingard, I'm at work (and might get into trouble if they catch me). If I was a bit better with technology, I'd only have one account.

Yeah that's what I meant, but we are able to "sign him" from the 1st of November 2017 which is what I meant.

Dummy half is probably the most influential position in the game, they touch the ball the most after all. I don't think Farah's style of play would work well with our style of play with the current players that we have. He needs a big rolling forward pack so he can work well, and he'll get that at south sydney, I'm not sure if we're currently at that level with our middle forwards. I reckon we'd rather go after potentially the best dummy half in the world in 2018 or someone else when there's more exciting dummy halves available.
I couldn't agree more, which is why I struggle with the fact we persisted so long with Matt Keating, then acquired a good hooker in Peats, only to release him before his contract ended (regardless of the situation), and are now looking to persist with a very mediocre hooker for another two years. Anyway, I hope you're right and we go all out for Hodgson.

You really think Keating and De Gois are the same player? Keating was an 80 minute toiler. De Gois is smart and experienced but struggles late in games.

Keating was f**ked. But we managed to reach a grand final with him. (And Robson and Mortimer.) Hayne was fullback. Incredibly unbalanced spine, but I guess it shows that if your spine is good enough in some areas it can afford to be less so in others. Besides, if all your spine members are superstars (or at least stars) it could be a case of 'too many playmakers spoil the broth'. They say styles make fights in boxing - and maybe different styles of spine players complement each other better than others. Jason Taylor got rid of Farrah, not because Taylor is totally insane, but because he wanted his halves and fullback to be the playmaking part of the spine and for Ballin to be the steady, 'plodding' hooker that would complement them rather than over-ride them. With Farrah there, it was a case of the Tigers going in too many different directions.

Actually, to an extent yes. They both lack a running game, give average service from dummy half and both tackle their hearts out. De Gois is much smarter though and thinks a bit quicker.

However that wasn't the point I was making. They are both mediocre players and in a position that arguably had the most influence on a side's attack.

It's only the most influential if that's how the team plays. We play very structured and attack on the edges. In that sense we just need a dummy half who reads the defence quickly and makes the right pass. And in defence we need somebody who is relentless in getting off the line and back.

Or farrah was just a dickhead

There aren't any off-contract dummy halves that I believe would be a big improvement on De Gois, even going into this year I couldn't think of one that I said "Oh yeah they'll be value for money". Yeah sure you have Peats but people were also complaining about our ruck area when he was at dummy half.

Our best option would be holding off until next year when there's a few dummy halves that come off contract, the biggest one being Josh Hodgson and Canberra also have Baptiste coming off contract in the same year. So the thinking behind signing De Gois for 2 years (contract finishes after 2018 surprisingly) was that we may not have the greatest attacking dummy half running around but he will be the cheapest option and it would allow us to spend more in other areas where we can attack from. Plus De Gois isn't a defensive liability.

Dummy half is definitely a priority in the fan's eyes, I think we could use a better player there. But I don't think the club should have just gone out and bought a dummy half for the sake of buying a dummy half. When the right player comes off contract that's when we'll strike, and we certainly have the money that a top dummy half would want.
baptiste was off contract this year and no one signed him away from raiders. what u think going to change next year?
u not too bright obscenely obese are u?

Farah is a proven leader. He was just hurting the club on massive overs (not his fault) and Taylor wanted him gone.
he was over calling the young halves on plays and this not the way taylor wants the team to play. old tapes didn't show you that? not showing up in your stats either?

Why shouldn't he overcall them? He is the smarter playmaker. He is proven. If he makes a call different to some rookie you know he made a better call. That was just Taylor's excuse for trying to move him out.
