Think Croft played for Redcliffe in Qld Cup and only signed by Storm last year.
Parra obviously don't have any recruitment officer looking at Qld Cup and other minor comps up here. Otherwise we should have signed Croft and Cameron Cullen before the bidding war for Fogarty. Both superior players imo to the Fog. Also a potential good big prop in Pat Viavia? from Burleigh should have been signed, only just signed with Titans after we signed the Fog. A good project player.

Croft was in Melbourne's top 25 last year. Not sure where he was prior to that.

Cullen would have been a good signing but Fogarty was his halves partner much of the year and outplayed him quite comfortably so I'm not upset we signed him instead.

Paterika Vaivai on to his fourth NRL club. Spent time at Melbourne before moving to the Warriors and Newcastle where he played six NRL games.

Croft came through the Melbourne NYC side and has been with them since signing from High School. Signed until 2019 with the Storm.

Cameron Cullen has been through the Broncos NYC side, trialled at the Cowboys and then on to the Titans feeder side. He was released to Manly as he was under contract with the Titans.

Yes, because we only have to look at a player and this guarantees that they will want to sign with Parramatta.

How often does he get through the line??? How many tries does he score??? He's a one dimensional Plod who should be in the second row(ME will be happy )
I think wing and centre would be his best positions (likewise with Hayne). But he's safe in the air and is one of the Dragons' best backs, so they feel obliged to play him at fullback. It's similar with Hayne. He doesn't have the work rate for fullback and his running game is wasted in the halves, but he's so good you can't stick him in the outside backs. So he's a fullback who doesn't push up in support enough.

I'm sure we signed Fogarty for his kicking game. Cullen didn't do much kicking.

Perhaps early in career
At dragons he has played 67 times from a possible 85. And that's not taking into consideration origin.
Would bring it closer to 67/80. Over 3.5 years to miss 13 games is quite reliable?
Depends on why he missed those games. If he missed them because he had an infected pimple in his ass then no

Should have accepted the 300k or whatever it was the dragons offered at the start of last year

Maybe his hot wife wanted to live in QLD for a while spend all those Bronco dollars.

As for Hunt's deal putting noses out of joint at the Dragons, I wonder if we'll end up with Widdop. Far from the best half in the game but he is reliable, experienced and has a kicking game (including goal kicking). Has also played for Arthur before. Would he cost a fortune? We could get very good value out of him at about $500k. Mitch Moses will probably cost $700k+

He was reportedly asking for upwards of 800k early last year before he had done anything. I hardly think that he will be asking for anything short of that now for him to leave the Tigers.

I'm sure we signed Fogarty for his kicking game. Cullen didn't do much kicking.

Cullen did quite a lot of short kicking from what I saw. Fogarty was the go to long kicker though and often was the one to get the option on the last. Cullen played more of a loose role, Fogarty was the director.

I'd say we signed him because he had a great all round season tbh. It's not much of a punt to get a bloke like that onboard and see what he can do

Yeah offers of $800k wouldn't surprise me. Players have a fair idea of what they're worth, especially the high demand ones. These guys receive expressions of interest from rival clubs long before they come off contract, to stop them re-signing too cheaply and ensure they get to market.

My point is that without the long kicking (and goal kicking) I doubt we would have bothered.

I'm happy about Tep resigning. Very good for a 21 year old and has a big future! Happy he is here another few seasons.
