What do you merkins reckon Moeroa is worth? I reckon $300k so far but $500k for potential over the next couple of years. At his age there's plenty of improvement left in him. It's unlikely but possible he could be the game's top edge forward by 2019.

Who are the games best young edge forwards?

I rate Cordner and Frizzel as the best currently. Do not know many young ones bar Tepai-Yeo-JFH-cartwright. And all are promising. Most 2nd rowers don't hit peak before 24/25. Plenty of time for Tepai to improve.

Two of the best signings we have had recently thou are Manu and KE. Bother where early to mid 20s. Two great finds. Are we keeping our eye out on anyone like this? A year in Wenty and then ready to fire.

At his age and with his potential if we could negotiate say a four year deal at about 400k he'll be an absolute bargain for at least three of those years IMO.

I reckon Edwards is on about $300k. Ma'u could be on double that.

I'd go $350K for 2 years with another 2 year option for 350K + f**k knows, depending on what the cap will be then and how he progresses. Bit of guess work considering his age.

He really has lost some weight, no doubt he will be fitter but he wouldn't want to lose too much bulk.

Guys like Papalii, Cartwright and Frizell are great in attack but not the best edge defenders. If you've got a guy who defends well out wide for 80 minutes, plus contributes in attack, your bench and everything else is so much easier to manage. Cordner stands alone I reckon, with maybe Gillett, Harris, Proctor, Ma'u and Jackson not far behind. Moeroa will end up as good as these merkins I reckon.

I'm biased, but imo, Manu Ma'u is the game's best edge forward.

Footwork, offloading, speed, agility, work ethic, power, defensive ability...he's a very, very, very good edge forward.

Imo, he has no flaws to his game.
