Rumours and Stuff

FYI, I'm not advocating for Hayne to play 5/8th, where he plays is the coaches decision.

I would probably start him at fullback for familiarity and where he was the Dally M winner in his most recent season.

There is no doubt though (and he conceded it when he was playing) that fullback will not be where he finishes his career, if he chooses to come back that is.
I see him mirroring (or wanting to mirror) Darren Lockyer, making his name at Fullback, then switching to 5/8th to finish off his career.

It'd be funny and I only just put this together, if that were to happen, we'd have two fullback/half conversions playing together.. huh...

Norman was always a left side half. He played fullback on debut for a variety of reasons but it's not his preferred position.

Did he debut at fullback?

I thought he starts in the halves and had a bit of a boom first year then got moved to fullback where he stagnated a bit?

No I was wrong. He started at fullback where he got MOM in his first game.

Then to the halves where he also did well. It was the second stint at fullback which didn't go great.

Even in that second stint at fullback (2013?) his LBAs were very high. I believe he led the NRL at the time he got dropped.

He did a pretty good job for us when he replaced hoppa there

Maybe lacks a touch of pace for it to be his best position

Anyway last week surely was his most complete, and best, game ever. He seemed to go to a new level and I would have thought no club would give a flying f**k about a minor possession charge if they are needing a playmaker.

I think his kicking game maybe seemed better than it is because Latrell Mitchell has absolutely no idea. Still, good vision from Norman to identify the opportunities.

This part is really all that matters. Realistically there could very well be better kickers, passers, etc then Cronk or Thurston for example, but it's completely useless unless they actually realise there's the opportunity. After that they really only have to be skilful enough to get the ball to the right area

If Pou and Bart/Phantom are against Haynes return it's all the proof i need for him to return to us in the Blue and Golds. We'll probably win a comp and they would still be debating the value of him to the club......

If you see his comment today on twitter. You know he's coming back to the Eels. It's just a matter of 2016 or 2017.
