wtf has that got to do with drink pouring

it's not liked he poured a keg of beer over her because he does weights

It is about being intimidated. As I said previously the image of this 100kg+ muscled up guy covered in tatts losing his cool would be quite scary. Yes he only poured a f**king drink but at the same time dummy she could of been scared to death not knowing what was coming next. f**k me dead.

Why does the fact he has tattoos make him scary?

I'd be way more afraid to cross paths with a pissed off Chuck Liddell, than a pissed off Connor McGregor...

Which is totally off topic, true - but I'm curious.

My mates think the same way - a big dude with tatts must be tougher than a big dude without tatts.

Dude....Tattoos and body building are not inextricably linked...Yeah some are meatheads, most just do it because they enjoy it. Same reason I play cricket and you gaze wistfully at images of Gus Gould....

When I am walking down the street and the type of guy I am sterotyping is coming in my direction and about to cross paths - I tell you what happens on a much higher percentage then with your normal Joe.. I have to take a full step to the right or left to avoid. Cause they aint . If I keep my path our shoulders HIT. Then I will get a Watch where your going. If I was the one who used those words - Id probably get belted. Instead I get out of the way.

There are sterotypes for a reason.

Dude....just.....wow.

The attitude that there is ever enough "provocation" in any argument to belt a woman. That attitude. That's completely, utterly, and totally an unacceptable attitude. It doesn't matter how angry she makes you...

And he didnt belt her. I dont condone belting anyone. Happens plenty of times though. I live in the real world where what I would like to happen rarely does. A lot of other people live in that world too. I try to understand why these things happen. I assume that you live in the perfect world where everything is lollypops and butterflies and rainbows and everybody loves each other

Ok, so you're just a complete moron. Got it. I'll stop trying to explain to you why the idea that the fact he didn't belt her should be seen as a good thing, or the idea that provocation makes belting a woman ok, is offensive, and stupid, because it's now clear to me that you're too stupid to understand.

I'll go back to my original comment. Give yourself a few dozen uppercuts.

I'm not sure anyone has ever missed a point this badly. In human history.

There is ZERO justification for a man to "put one on the nose" of a woman unless she is actively engaged in trying to seriously wound or kill him. Actually, you don't even need the gender pro-nouns. There is ZERO justification for a person to "put one on the nose" of another person during an argument unless they are in immediate physical danger.

So Kenny Edwards not hitting his missus is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT. His partner was lying in bed. She was not placing him in immediate physical danger. She was not trying to actively injure him. Therefore, the fact that he did not hit her is NOT SOMETHING TO APPLAUD. It should be simply taken for granted that a person does not punch another person for absolutely no reason.

I have a very close friend who was a victim of domestic violence. She was once thrown through a glass sliding door. There is simply no situation in which a big, strong bloke should NEED restraint to not hit his partner. It's offensive to suggest otherwise. Not hitting your missus should just be the way it is, not something you need to actively practice ffs.

I once put one on a blokes nose when he wasn't expecting it and we weren't even at the stage of having an argument. I simply opened the door when he knocked (at my ex-mother-in-laws) and when he introduced himself and shook my hand, I swung my left and clocked him right on the nose.

I wouldn't say it was unprovoked however, because he was the ex of my ex and had been physically abusive to her during the course of their relationship and I kinda figured someone owed him (her 3 brothers were 'mates' with him and had ignored his abuse of their sister).

Hope you don't think less of me now @Bazal

I would say that's a situation not adequately covered by either of my very basic situations (provocation during an argument/self defence) and I certainly wouldn't think any less of someone belting the bloke. I'm far from perfect, I had something of an altercation with the bloke who abused the friend I mentioned earlier.

The point was that there is never justification, during an argument, to resort to physical violence against anyone. Especially your missus. I completely understand that other situations exist

It's not that they're tougher, but that they are more invested in wanting people to think they're tougher. Therefore there is the perception here that such men will not react well to a lack of intimidation on the part of the target and will be more likely to escalate if the other doesn't back down.

Obviously it's not necessarily true even in a general sense, but that is the perception.

Saying that you understand it is providing tacit approval. It is never an understandable course of action to hit a woman because she made you angry. Simple as that. You can make whatever snide remarks you like, it doesn't matter. The attitude that it is ever understandable, and thus ok, to hit a woman who provokes you is absolute garbage. Can you understand that?
