Mannah is a poor man's Woods, and personally I wouldn't swap them, given Woods' likely price tag. Other clubs need Aaron Woods more than we do, so they should be able to pay more.
I agree. I'd argue that Mannah has been a better value overall than Nathan Cayless.

I agree Pou but my point is you should never be paying a prop 700k.

Silly money for a front rower.

Brad has it right signing blokes like Matagi, Vave and Brown. Even Wicks in the past but his story was a bit different.

Edit: Only prop in the NRL that i would look at paying big money for is Fifita. I don't consider Tuamalolo a prop but i would pay a lot to get him.

I do see Taumalolo as a prop, no different from Fifita or Woods - these are guys you want to run the ball when you really want to set up for a big play.

But I agree you don't need a forward this expensive in your team. I reckon you can get by with a good mix of value players. Edge forward is where you really need to spend money. I'm sure Ma'u is on close to $700k already, and Moeroa probably won't be far off it with whichever team he signs for.

Well we know demand for Norman would've been down at the time he re-signed. And we should know he might be requiring a top up fairly soon to keep him happy. Norman is worth at least $1M. Ma'u is worth about $700k and he's probably getting it.

Moeroa is worth less than $500k but he still has massive potential and clubs would know that. There is surely a club more desperate than us who might be willing to take a punt. Don't forget he has proven leadership value as well - he is in our leadership group at 21. That kind of thing makes clubs take notice.

What about Erin Molan? She looks like Brent Tate with anorexia.

Erin Molan makes Yvonne Sampson look like a super model.

Yep no chance Mau is on anything like $700k
You know the salary cap is $7M for only 25 players? That's an average of $280k, but most of those 25 would be getting less than $200k. The team's top half dozen players would all be on more than $500k. Is Ma'u in our top five or six players? Absolutely.

No doubt he is but if you look at our squad, I think we have distributed our cap more evenly so we'd have more players on the 350-400k mark and more on higher than minimum wage.

Don't forget MJC also indicated that we have much more than $700k spare in the cap so that significantly reduces the amount we're spending overall on our current roster.
