So you didn’t say Robinson or Flanagan wouldn’t do any better than ArthurrrrrZ????What am I claiming as fact???????
I’ve read it but I promised not to share, it was very exciting though. You’ve seen the review? Can you send me a copy?
I was calling for him to play fullback all year and I hope he does in 2019. That article doesn’t say he will def play fullback.
I meant I hadn’t seen anything indicating that BA had decided Hayne will be our fullback.
Who are these, our new forward recruits for next year? BA didn't offer the third body a 4 year contract did he? Isn't he Watmough's dad?
Think he can. Sounds like they are all one 1 year contracts. If a new coach comes in he normally brings support staff he trusts with him, doesn't he?So why doesn't he have the right to get rid of them?
How can you continually not get it? 2017 was the flash in the pan! What other year during BA's tenure did we make the finals? We are probably waiting to see if 2018 was a flash in the pan. We won six games this year ffs. We nearly won three times as many last year. WTF is going on?
The first quote doesn’t indicate where Hayne will play in 2019 at all and the second quote is from Norman on the 22nd March 2018.Well I reckon (that subject to fitness) BA thinks that his only gig is fullback. You can interpret these quotes how you like.
“He came in the second week of January after the World Cup, so didn’t get enough real time [with him]. He needed a really good pre-season,” Arthur told Michael Ennis on Fox League.
“I moved him to fullback probably a game too early, he wasn’t ready for it in terms of the physical workload.
“It cost us, he got injured. Yeah looking back on it now maybe we pushed him too hard too early and didn’t allow him time to get fully fit.”
Arthur is now hopeful that the off-contract star will stick with the Eels in 2019 as he has seen enough to know Hayne can ignite next year’s finals charge on the back of a full pre-season.
“He came back against Manly and we were desperate again on the back of six losses. Just the boys lacing their boots up next to him made a real difference and it was probably our best performance of the year and he only lasted half a game in that one as well,” he continued.
“So we just took it a bit more cautious with him this time around and he came back for us against the Cowboys and he was the difference, we don’t win without him.
“The challenge for him is he needs to repeat that for us every week because that’s what he’s here for and then come Round 25 we’ll sit down and have a conversation about what he wants to do next year.”

Rising star Bevan French has worn the No.1 jumper but switched with Hayne on good-ball sets during the opening two games of the competition.
"He's moved back there at training. We had our big session yesterday and he moved back there," five-eighth Corey Norman said on Sky Sports Radio on Thursday.
"I think just a bigger body coming out of the backfield there with Haynesy, and getting him a bit more involved and his experience there ... so we'll see how he goes," Norman said.
"If they get a good set and put it in the corners then you need them bigger bodies to start your sets off well, or you're kicking from inside your 40 (metre-line) there every time.
"With Haynesey back there hopefully he can get a good carry and hopefully we get a good start to our set."

Well clearly he must be happy with the refs thenMaybe you should lend your sports ears to the coach. Everyone can see the standards of refereeing but not much has ever been said publicly
Actually injuries have a huge role in where you finish, and always have. We had the worst toll this year and finished last. Storm had best but finished 2nd, Roosters second but finished first. All top 8 teams had the 8 best injury tolls. But maybe, and I'm grasping at straws here, it contributed to our piss poor attack and defence. The top 8 showed the difference between 1st and 8th. A game or two.
Winning comp for teams like Panthers and Saints was harder due to injuries.
Same goes for Brisbane.
It would of been a disaster if we made the 8 this year and had
Manu,Terepo,Brown,Alvaro all missing for finals.
While BA is learning 2018 was not all his fault. I dont blame the board.
I blame poor tactics, unluck, bad draw and injuries. Along with players out of form. This happens.
Look at Sam Burgess in finals. He was dreadfull. Couldn't hold the ball.
But other guys had career best years. Lets see them back it up. I like the odds that they wont.
How can you continually not get it? 2017 was the flash in the pan! What other year during BA's tenure did we make the finals?
But we were cheating. In the year that we got deducted 12 points, we won 13 matches. The tits played finals that year after only winning 11 matches.
So you will probably say that we didn't make the semis in 2016, however his coaching performance in that year suggests that except for extenuating circumstances beyind his control, he took the team to semis in 2016 and 2017.

If he didn't go for his run late in 2009 we would have run near last the way we were playing. The Plane has been in the team in the only Grand Final appearance the club has been in for the past 17 years.

To suggest that BA has settled on Hayne as a fullback based on either of those quotes is drawing an incredibly long bow.
I don’t share your confidence but I truly hope you’re correct. As i said, interpret as you will.
For mine BA has regretted rushing Hayne in the fullback role bc he was not fit enough.
When he was fit enough to play FB he was selected and BA was full of praise and said that he was the difference in a few games.
He showed zero love for French at the tail end of the season.
So it's Hayne, Frebnch, Gutho or a recruit. I reckon Hayne is a Winx price fav.
our new HoF wants to sign his matesWho are these, our new forward recruits for next year? BA didn't offer the third body a 4 year contract did he? Isn't he Watmough's dad?

The latter, but even the former isn’t a given. I think there’s a pretty good chance he’ll re-sign though. You are not confident that Hayne will re-sign or you are not confident that BA will use Hayne at FB ?
