As a descendant of very working class Australians and friend of many Mediterranean Descendants over the years, I absolutely disagree.

Hell the Woodstock drinking, Kambah Tavern frequenting, ute driving opening bat who threw a headbutt at me last year and has a Southern Cross tatt is a Croat. And his missus is Italian.

Holidays in general are boring.Go to Europe and look at buildings or go to Adia and watch poor people try and survive. I'd rather be working and learning new things then sit around and drink and tell everyone stupid stories about my life and how these travel experiences made me a better f**king person.

Travel is about seeing and experiencing the world. It's a learning experience.

Being insular is fine too I suppose. That's why so many people go to Bali to drink palm spirits.

There is certainly an unfortunately high percentage of bogans on cruises, but we found enough to keep us away from them for the most part.

Not my favourite holiday, but enjoyable enough.

Personally I'd suggest Australians are, on the whole, woeful tourists and anywhere with a high percentage of them is going to descend into boganry eventually.
