Depends on the risk. What if someone risked time and money trying to set up a business .The safe option is too just keep using that time to work and make money for someone fulltime?
Once you give up taking risks your effectively dead. But of course risks are fine if your not neglecting responsibility.

Just me? Ask any other supporter of any other club. I could txt 10 people right now. They'd all come back with same thing. Nice guy and tries hard but need to move on. They wouldn't want him in their side. Plenty just laugh when I mention his name.

The point is your bias is laughable...you're happy to lay the boot into one player you don't much like, but when one of your little favourites proves himself to be a complete f**kwit it's all excuses and defensiveness

I haven't seen anyone say they don't want the guy to get help if he needs it, but there's a difference to supporting and putting blinders on.

On 2 separate occasions he's done the wrong thing, and failed to tell the club (the biggest sin in all of this). At some point enough is enough. I don't care how long he's been there or how good a player they are.

If Peni has a problem with alcohol and needs help we should absolutely get him the help he needs, but I think his playing career with the Eels might be done now.

Loyalty is a two way street, he doesn't respect the club enough to let them know when he has gotten into trouble that could be damaging for the club, then why should we stick our neck out to try and keep him despite the trouble he is in.

He was looking good so far and was most likely in for a big year but the camels back is broken.

We're all tired of the shenanigans, mate. It doesn't reflect well on any club or the NRL in general when potential sponsorship, role modelling for kids and consolidating the brand is concerned. I think they need to pass an IQ test before being registered by the NRL(joking). They already have mentors who have explained their obligations (as players) to them. The public spotlight comes with guidelines.

I agree Peni was being a dope but I wonder if this has been blown out of proportion. They throw you off a plane for the smallest thing these days, I see footage of it in the news sites all the time, yet they let him stay on the plane, he didn't get charged and then he was allowed on his connecting flight. He couldn't of been too bad. I caught a flight on the weekend. There were 5 guys who were sober being obnoxious the whole time, they were cracking on to the hostess, one of them smuggled McDonalds on board. The thing is they were nobodies. If they played NRL it would have been in the papers the next day. I say fine Peni big and make him do 100hrs community service with alcohol victims
