So you agree he's a first grader. What then is the problem? If Brenko Lee can win a premiership (and play Origin) anyone can. They just need to be in a good enough team. Never forget it's a team game, and that's why it's not rational to look for a scapegoat.

I also feel the NRL changing rules once a side has build its squad is bullshit. We had a fast mobile pack which was being monstered and slowly replaced it with big strong powerfull guys. Then this off season they change rules. It will suit the more mobile packs imo. Funny how the Rooster built their pack in a way that suits this style more.
Rules changes like this should take 2yrs to come into effect so a coach can adjust his squad.
I reckon a few sides already had inside info on this.

Our only defensive plodder is Paulo. We'll be okay.

Yeah of course. It takes into account the age a player first became a first grader, and penalises the late bloomers, as it should. If you become a genuine first grader in your mid 20s it means you were shit for nearly half your career. It needs to be acknowledged.

Kidwell was appointed the Rabbitohs Toyota Cup (Under 20s competition) coach for 2010.[12] They finished minor premiers that year and made the Grand Final, but were defeated 42-28 by the Under 20s New Zealand Warriors. He later worked as an assistant coach at the Melbourne Storm under Craig Bellamy. On 16 September 2013 it was announced that he would be joining the Wests Tigers in 2014 as an assistant coach.

Kidwell joined the New Zealand national rugby league team as an assistant coach in 2014. After Stephen Kearney left the role of being the head coach of the New Zealand national team in 2016, Kidwell was later appointed as the new Kiwis head coach, Kidwell oversaw a brief but embarrassing era for New Zealand Rugby League in which they lost two World Cup matches to tier-2 nations, and fluked a draw against another in the 2016 Four Nations tournament. Yep, a disappointing career overall. But he still had 7.2 wins per year (since age 18) by the end of his final season, and that accounts for zero wins in 2015 when he was overseas. If you took away that year he is at 7.8, ahead of Tedesco and Waqa Blake.
