I can't leave Manu Mau out or Morrison. Same goes for Widders. He was a weapon.
J.Smith was the best locks we've had imo by a mile.
Tahu first stint was sensational. But everyone has different opinions

Beautner was a great footballer. Always in average sides.
D.Widders was one of my favourites. He could split a defense open at anytime and offload.
As great Lane and Mattersons forms been the others did it for larger periods.
Manu was a breathe of fresh air. I feel we've not had a 2nd rower who can split a defense like that since. Lanes more skilful with ball but manu was so dam tough. Shame he missed 4 or 5yrs of footy early in career

I hope we turn up next week unlike the swans.

When was the last time there has been a close AFL GF.

They always blow out early. And the losing team is gone basically before HT.

Compared to NRL we have had some close ones in the last decade.

2015,2016,2019,2021.

People have short memories.

Nathan Cayless was Captain of the Club for a decade. He played in 8 Final Series, 6 Prelim Finals and 2 Grand Finals throughout his career. He was Captain for over 200 games, the second highest in the NRL to only Cameron Smith. He was injured for most of 2003 and 2004, funnily enough two seasons we didn't make the Finals. He missed the Finals in only two seasons of his career where he played the majority of the season. He has a win percentage above 55%. He Captained New Zealand to a World Cup victory.

I am pretty sure same thing happened when GWS played a few years back.

Swans lost a GF back I think 2015 to hawthorn was a similar bashup in the 1st quarter.

Yep they talked up GWS saying its a huge boost for AFL in Western Sydney getting pumped basically killed them.

GWS are a small pimple on the sporting landscape. They will never get close to owning Western Sydney like the league teams.

The swans are Sydney's team in the AFL always will be.

Parra v Penrith GF will just be another dagger to the AFL's plan in Western Sydney.

Geeze Calyo copped it deluxe on here. I agree with you that he was a great player. His coaching stints at Warriors, Roosters, Tigers will add a lot to our reggies development. I suspect that we’ll have quite a young group next year.

NRL 2023 Season Draw Changes

The 2023 NRL season will be the earliest kick-off in 22-years, lasting 31 weeks and in a major shock for fans every club throughout next season.

The trio of byes is a huge win for players constantly seeking respite from one of the most brutal sports in the world.

However, clubs are already nervous about when they will receive their bye.

The Dolphins could be set for some trouble, with recruits like Kenny and Jesse Bromwich set for a limited pre-season due to the Rugby League World Cup. Picture: NRL Photos

It wouldn’t be rugby league without a blow-up and you can time your clock to the rage from those clubs that receive their byes in the opening rounds of the season, when a fast start is largely the craving of every head coach.

Alternatively, some clubs will be treated to a Round 27 bye.

It is the closest the NRL have come to copying the AFL‘s bye round, providing club’s with a week-off right before the finals series.

As the AFL has found, a week off for a player striving to overcome injury ahead of the finals, could prove season-defining.

Additionally, State of Origin will be played across three straight Wednesday’s with no Thursday night NRL games scheduled that week.

To increase the chance of recovery for the game’s elite, the NRL are also investigating shifting the 6pm Friday night game to a Sunday afternoon in the week of a State of Origin match.

The NRL have also told clubs to submit their preferred home matches, including derbies and Magic Round match-ups.

Due to the complexities of the 2023 season draw, the NRL are unlikely to release the finished product until late November.

I hate AFL, but I think when the Swans won it in 2009 (I think), the game was close.

Very under-rated player.

Gutho holding up the trophy he will be the King of Parra for the next 50 years.

And also shove it up all the opposition fans who hate gutho being called the king because in there eyes he hasn't achieved anything to deserve it.

The best thing i reckon is he is a Manly junior who Manly just let go to us with open arms.
Hope he score the winning try and give us some Gutherino magic that's been gone for so long.
